  1. Playing stretch on the front lawn with a commando knife. None of the neighbours battered a eyelid. Luckily we were pretty good at aiming and missed our feet. Still got that knife. Went and measured the blade it is 6"
  2. Getting a box of mixed nails and screws and a hammer and saw from Dad and told I could have any of the wood in the scrap bin. Main projects were little boats to take down the local river. I did build a house and pen for my Tortoise.
  3. We sometimes shoot at Byley Air rifle outdoor club or Mickley hall were we clay shoot too. There is also an indoor range at Saltney near Chester we take ours too called Tonyscamo. Lots of places about if you google them.
  4. Yes sub 12 and if you go in for competition they need to be 177. You can still drop a rabbit or bird with 177.
  5. Used to peel up the lino edge and try to count them before they disappeared. Got told off by Mum many a time for doing that. Could never manage to catch them. Too fast. Scrounging match boxes to put bugs in. Mum wasn't happy when she went to light the fire and got hit on the nose with a grasshopper.
  6. They used to live under the lino by the fire hearth. Dark, warm and damp.
  7. http://www.kew.org/science-conservation/plants-fungi/amanita-muscaria-fly-agaric From Kews website
  8. Used to get a lot on Boughton Brake in the fir planting in Notts.
  9. They do make 6 ft as adults. The group in the pen are babies.
  10. Have a look at the Westy trays as well for single shots when not using the magazine. They can be put in either way for left or right loading as have 4 magnets and slope in towards the pellet channel with a high back to stop it rolling through. Makes loading very easy for target shooting. Most clubs insist on the magazine being removed when moving from target to target.
  11. Rheas can make 6ft and can be quite dangerous if it is a Rhea. Must have been some big dogs to kill 2. 35 minutes a pound and 35 minutes over at 180. Place an bulk order at Paxo for the stuffing.
  12. They can do around 40 mph when they get going. Must have escaped from somewhere if that's what it is. Think of the drumsticks, you would need a big oven.
  13. We had the posh stuff, cod liver oil and malt with butter scotch. Still tasted awful. Only way we would take it was swathed round a spangle fruit. Still like liver and onions in rich gravy.
  14. Sugar in blue paper bags weighed out at the grocers.
  15. Well she could always have him neutered if he didn't resist.
  16. My Mk4 likes JSB Diablo Exact 4.52mm for the 177.
  17. Had a book for Christmas one year. I think it was called Fishing in all Waters by Mr Crabtree.
  18. Have a look at this link. It features domestic rats reverting to wild behavoiur, but gives a good insight into their intelligence. You have to load each section and it initially is a bit slow. Usually the right hand lower MB load in blue works best. You click the next section in the left hand titles to go to the next section.Found this a few years ago and it was fascinating. Takes about half an hour to watch it all if you get it loading at a reasonable pace for each section. http://www.ratlife.org/Home/0Main-frameset/Mainframeset.htm
  19. Faggots and Savoury ducks are the same. Regional difference in names.
  20. Haslet with Branston pickle sandwiches. Savoury Ducks in thick gravy with mash potatoes and marrowfat peas.
