  1. Plenty here, they breed in the wood around the house. One of them which came in the garden met with an unfortunate accident when it flew full speed into the sunroom window. Just checked bird id, we have rooks not ravens.
  2. Told you it looked like a buzzard!
  3. Not the old "I think me fanbelt's gone, you'll have to take your tights off" ruse?
  4. I got stopped quite a lot without the custom paint job.....
  5. Looks like it's a race to see who gets the 1000th squidgy! Doubt it'll be me as my supply has all but dried up...
  6. We use a BT Freeview box which has a hard drive and enables catch-up tv from your internet connection. https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B00YHD6GUY/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1477673882&sr=8-2&pi=SX200_QL40&keywords=bt+freeview+box&dpPl=1&dpID=21NxzDo5J5L&ref=plSrch
  7. Just had an email purporting to be from Apple, threatening to close down my Apple devices unless I follow the link and confirm my security details! Bloody awful English and addressed me by my email address, not my name. Beware people, the bad guys are out there....
  8. They all use the same trick, go in and take over a city. No Opel, Gliwice goes down the tubes. I lived in Pamplona where VW own the city. The locals admit that if VW go Pamplona will be a ghost town.
  9. Just a heads up that Uttings have Toggi Berkeley boots at £79. Mine came this morning, not generously sized, glad I ordered the 45s. Also a pig to get on as I have high arches but hopefully will soften as they break in. Very comfy and as warm as my neoprene wellies.
  10. Same all over Europe. Opel had (have?) a huge plant in Gliwice where I used to live, they paid no rates and were given grants by the PL gov to go there. Fiat had (have?) a huge plant in Tychy, presumably on the same terms.
  11. The second pic is pretty spot on. I had a listen on YouTube and the three short croaks is the one. I live around Adlington, we have had ravens in the garden but never heard them make this particular croak/quack.
  12. Good call! Only seen briefly in silhouette wheeling above the trees and the wing and tail profile does look similar to the buzzard. Cheers IG 👍
  13. I know it sounds odd, does to me as well! In the past I've heard the call in the woods and assumes it was a duck, albeit with the flu! The last couple of times I've actually seen the bird in flight although only in silhouette. Not a goshawk, had a listen on your link. Just heard it again, really puzzled now 🤔🤔🤔
  14. This is for the competition guns which I'm pretty sure are bigger - http://estore.beretta.com/en-eu/beretta-oil-wood-competition-recoil-pad-for-12-ga/ Not cheap though! You could get one made for not too much money by a decent stock maker/finisher.

    Bird call

We all know what a buzzard sounds like, a long, descending high pitched call. There are a few in the woods around my house. There is also something, however, which looks like a buzzard but sounds a bit like a duck! Anyone any ideas?
  16. Like this one?http://estore.beretta.com/en-eu/beretta-plastic-field-recoil-pad-for-12-ga/ I let one go with the Silver pig S I've just sold..
  17. Ahhh, the days before elf and safety when you could climb over mountains of wrecks to rip that precious part you desperately needed on a Sunday morning.....
  18. And make sure the rails and wire are on the field side of the posts if you're trying to keep animals out of the garden. Apologies if you already know how to blow eggs....
  19. I had a 1976 Viva with the same key release - and vinyl roof 👍
  20. I had the barrels skimmed on my Midland. No reproof needed as it stayed within proof limits.
  21. If (when) it broke down you could usually fix it without a degree in computer science, just a few spanners and a Haynes manual. Although most of the jobs I embarked upon required a 'special tool'....
  22. I take it you gave a favourable review.....
  23. How come that never happens to me??
