  1. FROM WHAT YOU ARE EXPLAINING IT DOES SOUND V MUCH LIKE WORMS.
  2. You wont go far wrong with a Daihatsu Fourtrak - solid, very reliable and good offroad with some reasonable tyres like bfg all terrain or mud terrain. Plenty going cheap these days. If funds allow go for the independant version post '93 the ride is more comfortable!
  3. Eat em all eventually - the missus cant get enough!
  4. Nice shot - i guess you used the 17 grain vmax type with the synthetic tip they do make quite a bit of damage - the 20 grain hollow points i have used lately dont expand on impact so v little damage though i do intendhead shots at all times its just that my rfd didnt have any vmax. what is the scope you have on there?
  5. Sparkie, your right it aint a true fox round - but with bullet placement in the engine room and the vmax 17 grain bullet it puts them straight down upto 100 yrds or so. My point was that the .22lr and .17hmr will cover most scenarios for someone just starting out. I would suggest after your first 3 years experience to go for a variation with a .22 centrefire on your ticket.
  6. I find it best to let them have their feed in the morning and get confidence of landing in a particular field - this is where reconaissance pays off - then when they have digested that they go for the second feed. I would aim to go out around 11.30-12.00 noon. ATB
  7. In my opinion .22lr for the rabbits and .17hmr for fox but stick to 125 yrds max with the .17hmr and around 75 yrds with the .22lr.
  8. Must admit never heard of this before?
  9. Take it back to the shop andet your money back - then buy 'The Pigeon Shooter' book by John Batley if you havent got it already and read it from cover to cover then a week or so later again if your like me and dont take it all in first time! This book will guide and help you much much more if you want to shoot pigeon successfully!
  10. Beretta Urika for me too - cant fault it bought second hand for 650 squid in a1 cond.Ace bit of kit!
  11. I regret getting rid on my AA 410. Had a really nice walnut thumbhole stock to boot. Really confident with its accuracy etc!
  12. I have 3 Simmons Whitetail Classic 3.5-10x50 scopes. One on my FAC Theoben Rapid, one on my CZ .22lr and one on my CZ .17HMR. I love them! You will struggle to get new though - info below from Blackpool Air Rifles website: Famed for their fully multi-coated lenses which give you the light-gathering edge in low-light conditions. This big objective version gives you maximum light gathering capabilities and an ideal mag range for hunting. Traditional 30/30 reticle 1inch body tube Finger adjustable, hunting style turrets Rugged, granite style finsh eliminates glare from the scope body
  13. I paid £96 each fitted with valves and balance per corner for 31x10.50.x13 for my fourtrak. Money well spent!
  14. BFG All Terrain for me too! Good allrounder. Done over 30k miles on a set of 4 showing little sign of wear - no road noise and reasonably good offroad. BFG mud terrain give road noise and are a softer compond. ope this helps.
  15. I would suggest hiring a submersible pump with enough hose from someone like Speedy Hire or HSS and pump it into a drain if there is one close by? Wont cost much and should be done in a day - this is what we use on construction sites to empty dug holes etc. Hope this helps! Speedy Hire pump HSS Pump Take a look t the above links
  16. I use an old mango chutney plastic barrel (free from the local injun) with a cushion at the base in an old army kit bag. I get most of my gear in it and find it the perfect height - don,t cost much either!
  17. I have the .17hmr CZ American and .22lr CZ Style and find the .22 better for lamping being subsonic, eley or remington suit my CZ Style. The .17hmr this time of year zeroed at 100 yards with cci 20 grain. Downside to .17hmr is price and noise. Doesnt make any difference to the type of moderator fitted. If this isnt an issue for you then the .17hmr is the one to go for. I have harris bipods on both to ensure head shots as I eat mine or sell to butcher or friends. If you're still not sure then get both assuming you have them on your ticket.
  18. Fleabag, i agree with you 100% - including the driving with fog lights on when it aint foggy - that really gets my goat. Especially when they only have their side lights on with the fogs is my biggest pet hate . I also notice that it is our overseas majority, i mean minority that seem to have these private plates - mercs and bmw's are very prone! i think it must be some kind of status symbol even though they probably live in a s*ite hole down melton road! they are not necessarily that young either. Give em all an on the spot fine i say and get them to put them right. come on leicetershire police get your act together and get to work on this
  19. it would take you a fortnight to find what you needed!!!!!
  20. Does anyone know where i can get those white bendy canes that farmers use to mark out a field when crop spraying that you see sometimes. I have been told they are excellent to use for making bouncers but don't know where to buy them from. And yes I have been looking in the fields but no I wouldn't take any - but I could ask the farmer where he got them or he wanted to part with any. Failing that has anyone used something else with success?
