  1. No, it coarse fish. I’ll speak to the owner and see what he says. He did tell me someone was trapping about 3 miles away. I’m not too worried about the crayfish, he gave me permission to fish in the river and shoot what I like although unfortunately his woods are too small for a shotgun so looks like I’ll be getting a pcp air rifle.
  2. A river. Not the ones I’ve made, they only have a 2” opening. Some of those on eBay sold as crayfish traps have larger openings and maybe they could get their head stuck. Every postcode on the list they gave me is to the south, I think Wolverhampton and Shrewsbury were the most northern. I have read that it’s too cold for them further north, but I’ve also read they’ve been found in Scotland. Has anyone else heard of them further north than the midlands?
  3. They didn’t say, they just sent a list of postcodes where they do issue licences. The first thing I’m going to do is see if there are Signal Crayfish there, but the landowner seems pretty certain. Yeah, I wondered about that, another thing I thought might be the risk of catching Otters but a dropnet would remove that possibility.
  4. I was asked to trap some Crayfish by the landowner but the Environment Agency has said they don’t issue licences for ST15 postcodes. Anyone know why?
  5. Yeah, that sounds like the best bet. Thanks to everyone who replied.
  6. It’s hard to say if the deep manhole is still flowing, there’s never been anyone in to use it when I’ve been there. I cleared it today with rods, pushed in from the manhole nearest the house. The resistance to the rods seemed to lessen about 4 or 5 yards in, probably where the gulley joins on, so if I’m right it looks like my tenant is responsible, at least this time. I’m wondering whether to pay for a camera just to see is there is any obstruction, although a did put a disk about 4 or 5 inch diameter on the rods and that went down no problem.
  7. Here is a drawing of the layout, the blockage is somewhere between the 2 manholes.
  8. The drain comes from under our house, flowing down from next door. My drain joins on somewhere under the garden path and the combined drains carry on to a deep manhole next to the road. I think our garden is lower than next door so if there’s a blockage it comes up our side.
  9. I don’t know who the landlord is, neither do the students. When we wanted him to cut his hedges we went through the letting agents but it wasn’t very successful. Thanks for the replies, it looks like Severn Trent or Environmental Health are my best bet.
  10. I own a semi detached house that I rent out. The yard keeps getting flooded with sewerage from the manhole, I’ve had to rod it 3 times in under 2 years now. I don’t think the problem is being caused by my tenants, I think it’s the students in the HMO next door. Their drain joins on to mine about 10 feet underground, is there anything I can do other than keep clearing it when it gets blocked?
  11. According to that new book about her, she was moving from being pro EU to having serious doubts about it. That’s part of the reason Heseltine, Major and all conspired to oust her. May? Take Britain out? You’re having a laugh.
  12. I think he’s referring to the letter Boris has sent to the Scottish court promising to ask for an extension. Which should have cheered up the remainers no end, until he announced we are still leaving at the end of the month no matter what. Don’t know what he’s planning but the EU fanatics won’t like it.
  13. I wouldn’t trust a newspaper report that says it was on a ‘bridal’ path, or did the path lead to the church or something. Sad that it happened but we only have one side.
  14. The Far Right is anyone who voted for Brexit, if you believe the Remainiacs.
  15. I agree with you on Bobby Goldsboro, and anything else by him as well. The UK version of DoC was by Max Bygraves but I’m ashamed to admit knowing that one. The 3rd one was Terry by Twinkle, I don’t mind that, at least it’s better than Leader of the Pack.
  16. Can’t stand Joe Dolce’s Shaddup a your face but one thing it had going for it, it kept that overblown rubbish Vienna off the top spot.
  17. It was better than I expected, I think farmers can got the message over to the general public better than us shooters.
  18. The neighbour’s worried about losing EU funding for her ‘experimental play’, so why doesn’t she just use her late father’s money to fund it. After all, that’s what’s funding the rest of her life, doubt she’s ever done a proper days paid work.
  19. He moved to France after the accident so is there any way of them actually getting the money off him?
  20. Well if some idiot does lump the neighbour as a result of my joke I’ll gladly contribute towards his fine.
  21. Someone should lump the neighbour. I am, of course, like Jo Brand, joking.
  22. Yeah, and some probably voted for Javid this time to get rid of the Toy Soldier.
  23. Oh dear, Rory’s out, his vote actually went down. Did some MPs just vote for him to wind him up a bit?
  24. So basically it was work experience, I did 3 days of that in a garage. By Rory’s reckoning I can claim to be a qualified mechanic.
