I think that possibly your best port of call would be the solicitor who did your conveyancing for you. I would assume that it was them who flagged the access issue in your deeds during your purchase, and they will probably be best suited to advise you of where you stand. It might cost you a couple of hundred quid in the first instance but it would avoid a lot of second guessing and heresay.
  2. Rob, don't put it too close to your hide, they are canny blighters and if they are checking the sentry out and clock any movement or shape of you in the adjacent hide they will chink off.
  3. Pulsar digital NV Monacular in good condition. I'm looking for £150 posted please. Give me a shout if you have any questions. Cheers Jonty.
  4. I was wondering how you folks that use rear fitting NV units extend the length of pull of your stock to accommodate the extra eye relief required. I have a starlight arrow and have made a crude screw on butt extension for my cz ri fires but I'd like a neater solution which would be suitable for both rf and cf. I do have a couple of ideas but I would be very interested to see what other folk have come up with too......with a view to blatantly nick any good ideas!!! Cheers Jonty
  5. Disposable nappies stuffed inside wet boots work really well. They have the advantage over newspaper in that they soak up the moisture but don't let it leach back into the boot. Cheepo supermarket own brands cost peanuts and are very effective.

  8. Commercial meat slicer made by Berkel. This is in good working order and slices from wafer thin to doorsteps. It's a hefty piece of kit so collection only please - I'd be happy come out a 15 mile radius of Settle, N Yorkshire if that would help. £150.00
  9. Chiefy, the river season for trout will finish at the end of sept here so stocked fish will be your only option for the start of October. helwith bridge fishery is maybe 4 miles from settle and is well worth a dabble, the pub, the Helwith Bridge, is within walking distance of the fishery and does great food and excellent beer should you need refreshment and a meet up with Mrs chiefly during the day.
  10. I'm with Walshie on this one! Grubs Stalkers, they are similar to muck boots, but have a vibram sole, perfect for all sorts of terrain and comfy too. They come in at about £75 - £80

    Homebrewing

Do give it a go - it is literally as easy as pouring it in to the fermenter along with the yeast. No detrimental impact on flavour etc. The malt miller sells it for approx £2.00

    Homebrewing

Just a bit of a heads up for any brewers who have got any coeliac or gluten intolerant mates/family. I'd heard of a fining called clarityferm whic was used to kill chill haze in beer but also had a side effect of 'cancelling out' the gluten in beer. A good friend of mine who is a pub landlord is married to a coeliac and in the absence of my having any beer gluten device, she offered to be my guinea pig. I'm happy to say that she can drink any beer I've made with the clarityferm with no ill effects (apart from a hangover!!). The stuff is brilliant, it;s a couple of quid for a phial that will treat up to 7 gallons and you just pour it into th e wort at the same time as pitching the yeast. It's definately worth a go if you do know someone who can't drink beer due to the gluten. According to the coleliac society it can be classed as gluten free if its less than 20ppm, this gets most beers down to 10ppm
  18. I reckon that's got to be an old wives tale surely. The geese fly in a V for areodymamic advantage, the front bird (which has the most work to do) is changed regularly so you could get any age of bird at the front. I have found that it's best to shoot a bird towards the back of the formation as the birds in front will keep more to their original flight path with the birds behind the shot chinking away, which makes it easier to take a second shot at the birds in front.
  19. Sound advice..... also very applicable to chosing one's company for the remainder of the evening when leaving a nightclub
