  1. Don't like to contradict members in normal circumstances, but this statement is glib and open to misinterpretation. As it relates to safety, I recommend all members to ignore it.
  2. Thanks to all for advice offered. I am still interested to hear from anyone who can respond to the original post.
  3. Thanks, Wymberley. What work did they do for you on the barrels?
  4. I should have stated that the question pertains only to side by sides.
  5. If any members have had a Purdey repaired or, more interestingly, renovated in the last few years I would be grateful for information regarding who did the work, quality delivered as well as time taken and costs incurred. Thanks, Milo.
  6. We use a Merlo with a "man basket" on the tele-arm to get us up to tree top height. First time was a bit hairy but it's brilliant as you can obviously drive it to wherever you wish.
  7. Congratulations. A quick wander in the wood produced a more meagre 4 pigeon today but all had only clover in their crops.

    Eu Polls

The remain team seem to have shot their bolt a little early. I would not be at all surprised if the outers get a head of steam up closer to the finish line.
  9. Nice. Come on, who else is still loving the side by side in the hide? Poets only?
  10. Nice to see a side by side being used in the hide. Sometimes I think there's not many of us left.

Have just see the trailer. Those semi-sunken hides look exactly the same as they were 25 years ago.

    Eu Polls

The EU is a failed experiment in its current form. It is time to press the reset button. If we left it would do the EU massive damage (which is all the Yanks and others are concerned about, NOT the UK) so a get out vote may well lead to meaningful concessions from Brussels in our favour and a revote. This has happened before. I'm for a reset and I wouldn't be at all surprised if Cameron knows just how many people will vote for one. Hence his frenzied efforts.

    Normal For Norfolk

Some great memories from trips to shoot around Holt. Loved the county and the people.

He took a chum and I duck shooting the evening before we were attending a shoot at North Barningham back in the late eighties/early nineties. He had a narrow strip of grassland running from the house down to the sea wall with just a few flashes on it. We were surrounded by wildfowl sanctuaries I think so there was plenty of duck about.
  15. Good news. I should admit that I am a loyal customer of JC. Many orders; always helpful and never a mistake.
  16. That sounds unacceptable. I would call Charles Bull right away and inform him of the situation.
  17. Great when a plan comes together. Very amusing memory of watching a spaniel try to make sense of its first encounter with a hedgehog.
  18. Could you remain in the same sector but change your role? Perhaps consultancy would give you more freedom and control while not wasting the contacts, experience and skills you have already acquired?
  19. Congratulations. You seem to have an instinct for the right thing to do.
  20. Have 2 which have been given plenty of hammer. Both still good as new. Side pockets particularly useful.
  21. http://www.recoilsystems.com/greenpad.php I have the full recoil systems on a pair of side by sides and an Xpad on a pigeon gun. Excellent products.
  22. About 15 years ago I bought a Leica LR800 and it has been worth every penny several times over. Has had hard use and is still as good as day 1.
  23. Have found RC Sipe fibre 26gm 6.5 (UK) shot to be a good staring point. Not sure why you don't want to use them but I get all my cartridges from Just Cartridges and have always been happy with the service.
  24. Why do the antis want to have it banned? Is it in pursuit of a highly doubtful argument that it would be good the moorland environment and wildlife? Or is it an attack on what they perceive to be the privileged class, as was clearly the case with fox hunting?
