  2. Hello Turner. I shot on OSR last Sunday although they have chucked fert on it, a large number of Pigeons are still hitting it. At 1300 hrs i started to shoot there they were going in on the other end of the field most of the afternoon in quite large numbers up near the road ( A34 )were i cant shoot, but the crop was quite high there to. Unfortunatelly my shots were not disturbing them at the other end of the field and the birds coming in to my side of the field were still seeing them and turning off to go to them feeding there. I still shot 35 birds though. I left at 1600 hrs and the birds were still coming to feed there and i could not pull em to my deeks. I am trying to line up some clover as we speek for this weekend because ive seen a good few on it today. Happy hunting.
  3. If the land is large enough, ask the land owner if he will let you apply for a FAC then you could use .22 rim and siencer with subsonic ammo, then you will be in with a chance. Failing that I have a friend who uses a FAC air rifle at 33ftlb and he really does get good results and also a little safer as the pellets dont travel so far if you miss and drop off quicker. He re fills it from a divers air bottle that he gets filled from a dive shop every now and then. The 22 rim is a cheaper option if the ground is safe. Then if you dont get lucky 12 ftlb .22 is the answer but about 30 yards is ya lot. I have done quite well in the past using a 12ftlb .22 air rifle with silencer with Eley Wasp pellets. Parker Hale used to make a single stroke pneumatic ( cant spell it ) rifle called a Dragon Mk2, had a side lever didnt need a pump or a bottle, contained is own cylinder under the barrel only disadvantage was it weighed about 9lb but acurate. I dont know of anyone else that made a single stroker but there may be others around, ask Uttings like matie said they will know. Happy hunting.
  4. I use a 12 Gauge o/u choked 1/2 and 1/2 with Winchester 32 gram plas 5 shot, stops em a treat. 25.04.04 Changed my mind now Use RC Sipe 32g 5 shot plas, as the winchesters have just gone up to £144.per thou.

    gun needed

Hello Wilkes. If you want a wide rib try to find a shadow indy o/u you can land planes on em.
  9. Wonder Boy. There is good advice given here. LIve bait is the best, Roach are great if you can catch a few. Try not to use a landing net if possible with them trebels. Get them into shallow water an stick your finger in under ther jaw and lift them mind the hooks and there teeth, use a rubber glove for the first few times. Practice makes perfict. You might have to use a landing net though so take it with you. if you can get on the weir you can trot the float down stream covering more area and then you will need the landing net. Take some long forceps with you for unhooking, and play em out before your land em as the water temp is warm for this time of year. Be there as i gets light and if you can stick it also as the light fades. good luck.
  10. Hello Neil. Yes they replaced the barrels as i told them i was not happy with the selector safety and i did not want it replaced with another the same, and the original barrels were choked 1/4 and 3/4 and could no longer be selected. I asked them to fit a fixed safety and told them that the chokes were now incorrect for the job in hand and as the gun was now fixed i would like them 1/2 and 1/2 choke. They done what i asked with no questions asked even matching the serial no. You cant knock their customer service and just a month to complete the job.
  11. Hi . If the birds are high i mean over 50 yards up leave them , let them go round and come back in again when they commit themselfs, blast em. Hope theres some wind for ya.
  12. Hi Dead Eye ****. I owned a perazzi MX8 for a year i bought it new with Sco wood and i looked lovely. I had a problem with the safety catch selector behind the trigger, when i pushed it across it double discharged and **** the life out of me, twice was enough. I also know someone else have the same thing happen to him. We both complained to perazzi and to the importer also the safety standards, altough his was about two years before mine. Perazzi will not admit that there is a problem though. My gun was sent back to perazzi and i had a new set of barrels fitted choked 1/2 and 1/2 to do away with the selctor safety and replaced with a fixed one that always shot the bottom barrel first, free of charge to me. I shot a 49 out of fifty with it at a CPSA sporting shoot and the problem was solved for me. I must admit the highs of this gun were the trigger pulls, fantastic. I sold it a year and a bit later and lost a few grand,it had 31and a half inch barrels and i have gone back to 30" but thats the gun trade. Also there are alot of perazzis around now and other people have never had any problems with safety selectors. I would look for a good s/hand one they are around and you will most likely get back what you pay for it if you look after it. They are fine guns. One thing though i found it strange that perazzi made me another set of barrels and fitted a new trigger group free of charge if there was nothing wrong with it as they said.
  13. Hello Mick. Tungsten Matrix is the best alternative i have found yet. But the price will make you toes curl. Steel will wear your gun even in a high dense plas wad. Newer guns are being fitted with chrom barrels to stop barrel wear for steel eg 68s berettas and 525 brownings etc. With steel the volocity dies quick at distance. My freind shoots steel in his browning 325 and he swears by it. So i think you will have to do the test yourself. Remember though with steel you are ltd to 1/2 choke max and not suitable for 65mm chambers. Tin shot has a low striking energy due to lower density so you need to be one or two pellet sizes larger than with lead also applys to steel to. Happy shooting.

    Any cartridge

Hello Sam F. If i was a rich man i would use Hull Sterling 32g Pdp 6s they are really good in 12 gauge. I used some Rotty Tigers in 20 gauge plas 6s 28gram and you are right they were really good to, but i dont like the price of either of them.
  15. Hi Sam F. I would try ringing Adept UK Ltd 01457 877170 in Saddleworth, Oldham. They are the importer for Victory Cartridges, they will be able to tell you your nearest stockist.

  17. Please give your veiw on cartridges and value for money. 4.3.04 Thanks for your responce Guys, but its true you only get what you pay for then. I do believe that pigeon shells should come in under the £105.00 per tho though. I just bought a thou of Gamebore Volocity 32g plas 6s for £90.00. I will give my opinion later. Anyone shot Winchester Rangers 32g 5s plas in 12 Gauge. 7.03.04 Gamebore Volocity 7/10 alittle better than clear pigeon and a little cheaper to, but thats through my gun. My freind, i was with yestoday had 250 from me and he shot 157 over drillings, so he likes um too, his best day ever. Got to go im out again today and its 7 am tar tar.
