  1. I had a Skoda Octavia scout for a few years ex lease and dirt cheap, worked really well with the AWD system and is basically the same underneath as the Audi's. I eventually came back to the same AWD system with a yeti after a couple of different cheap cars and apart from lack of tyre choice I can't complain at the build quality or the car in general.
  2. Bit of a thread hijack, but I could be interested in that mate
  3. I picked up a 12g hushpower a while back cheap as a project it's nearly there but I don't have a use for it and so no motivation. It's got an issue with light strikes which seems oddly prevalent with hull cartridges for some reason, and the extractor has a tendency to spin off the one remaining guide rod so it stops it shutting. It's not an amazing gun but somewhere near useable I think. Anyway my cabinet is definitely full and I've got my eye on an AYA SxS to take the game shooting load of my other SxS as its 120 years old and needs treating a bit more gently so the pedretti is going. It's free, it shoots when it wants to and I'm based in Wolverhampton.
  4. There's a few about on the model run your looking at at good prices, don't discount the small BMW g's like the f650 and f800 either, saw an f800 for sale earlier for 4k Haven't tried a 610, I do have a 630 that's had a fair bit of work done that I raced last year.
  5. Personally I'd go for the xtz, but I love big singles, there's nothing like them. I've ridden a couple of gs's and didn't get on with them because they were too heavy, tall and wide for me but it was normally off road and getting someone else's bike out of a ditch or river or somewhere equally silly, that said I'm not that tall and I'm not that heavy, I know people that love them and some that hate them. Touring and 2 up wise I've done a fair few camping trips with my Mrs on an nx650, back roads and a sedate pace is fine with 50hp imho
  6. Is the Rugeley club home office approved? I've been looking for somewhere nearish to Wolverhampton and there's Wednesbury marksmen but they seem pretty geared toward the practical rifle stuff. Also there's a good chance we've met, I was at 2132 squadron from 2002 to about 2008 and did a lot of shooting, coaching, weapons instructor and a couple of Easter swinnies on the range team.
  7. One of my old locals in my late teens while I still lived with my mom and dad, long walk back down that lane in the dark after a few pints to get home. Started out as a farm house in the mid 1700's if I recall. It had just been sold to an undisclosed buyer and wasn't going to be a pub anymore, and all the local people I have on social media are moaning about it being closed but never used to go in anyway. Certainly not the only pub around that way that's been sold and then "mysteriously" had a fire.
  8. I've got one built from a pedretti that I picked up cheap last year, I got it cheap because it had some issues but most of those look like they're from the base gun they used and having removed the fore end to fit the can on. I haven't managed to get hold of any sub sonics to try it with but it's marginally quieter than something unmoderated with normal cartridges but not a lot, trying to find subs in 12 gauge isn't the easiest either. If I was going to get another one I'd probably hold out for a Baikal single barrel just because they're built like tanks normally. At the moment it just sits in the cabinet not doing a lot really but it does look cool.
  9. I've got a 12g pedretti hushpower I was thinking of parting with to make space for a semi. The price of hushpowers seems to have gone nuts now for some reason. Based in Wolverhampton, £150 and it's yours.
  10. I've got a flat bottomed kettle I use on ours, it's always on the stove when the stove is lit and works well it's just a cheap Amazon job that's meant to go in a job. I'd say don't get a whistling one unless you want to hear a faint whistle all day and night. Trivets are good but reduce how much heat your getting to the pan or the kettle, that gets used if I'm cooking a thicker sauce like Bolognese. What I do a lot of the time is just chuck a hand full of 2p's on the hot though, only reduces the heat a little and does keep stuff off the top, good for doing flat breads in a cast iron frying pan to go with a stew.
  11. Hi mate, is this still available and would you be willing to post it?
  12. I spent years basically living in a buffalo special 6 smock so I've had some experience with them, I've got one of these for exactly what you want one for: https://www.newforestclothing.co.uk/products/percussion-highland-waterproof-smock?currency=GBP&variant=40117402108095&utm_medium=cpc&utm_source=google&utm_campaign=Google Shopping&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=&utm_agid=&utm_term=&creative=&device=m&placement=&adtype=pla&product_id=13118-Khaki-Medium&gclid=Cj0KCQjwmN2iBhCrARIsAG_G2i6ZaiFEaz89oKovTpk73U6-PWHm0srFFa506Z7NPZusiwNcX8ptGm0aAkufEALw_wcB Ita a bit of a PITA to put in and take off if you've got bad shoulders, it does get very warm and the hand warmer pockets are right at the bottom which can be awkward depending on what you're doing but it works well with a cartridge belt. That said it's comfortable, it's warm when there's a cold wind blowing and there's a lot less zip for it to push through, it's waterproof to a point and could stand having more waterproofing on it, there's a decent sized game pocket and the chest pocket is cavernous. I've spent over a year abusing it and neglecting it and it's still absolutely fine so I'm not worried about longevity either.
  13. PM sent to see if it's still available and whereabouts you are.
