  8. hull 20b sterling game 6 shot 30gram or for 12b eley hi flyer found they perform very well all round. (Providing they are pointed in the direction)
  9. what chokes do you guys normally opt. for over a standard decoy pattern then do you tighten up if roost shooting?
  10. probaly one of the hardest shots when you are decoying mate you normally just have to try and pull down through it but remenber if the wind is behind you as well the bird will have quite a shift on normally. If you can not master it try on some clays.
  11. Nice to see some good gun safety put into to place (NOT), the dogs were well under control i think not only in america!!!!!!

    Gritting

round are way they either grit far to early or far to late like you say does no good for the paint. If they do it to early the grit is more slippery than the ice that comes later anyway.
  19. i do love early mornings if I can get out of bed, can be even better this time of year to decoy as they leave there roosting wood before they get to ganged up.
  20. that is a very impressive bag Im sure his shoulder is feeling it now, Hurry up and get the pics up mate!!!!
  21. most of the birds here seem to be on stubbles or lifted potatoe fields because they are in such vast flocks they are being difficult to decoy, I have noticed ther are a hell of a lot of young birds still with the neck bars only now starting to appear.
  22. did have the same problem with the amber filter but like suggested black tape sorts that out. I found the amber filter good because it still gives good distance over the red filter but takes the bright glare off the white light then as you want to take the shot if you are lamping with a buddie get them to remove the filter as the shot is to be taken.
  23. any i shoot normally put out as deeks about 20 yrds away from main pattern you will quite often then pick up a few blackies as well.
  24. ok mate cheers there are a few shops that sell it in my area will possibly give it a go.
  25. have not noticed as much when been driving about now you mention it and you do notice a lot of setaside land is now ploughed. In some areas where ther is no rape it could mean some very good roost shooting to be had as they might stay in woods for the beech masts and acorns more.
