I am currently looking for permissions from land owners / farmers for vermin control / crop protection. I am fully insured up to £10 million. I shoot alone and I take shooting very seriously! I use a very quiet pneumatic charged .22 air rifle with night vision capability. I am available to shoot most days / evenings. Thank you. Craig - 07496531378 c_smith1983@hotmail.com

Hi all Seems rat holes have appeared by the duck pond, pheasant pen, barn etc. We could put poison down but I'd rather not, might live trap or even Fenn trap but I'll thinking getting a few of us off the shoot down with some 410s might make for some good sport. Not practical so making a smoker is out of the question, the rats smoker 2 is best part of £100, so wondered if anyone has used smoke bombs, the things you check chimney flues with? Has anyone used em? Can anyone see any problem in using em? Thanks Redogi

I am looking for shooting opportunities within reasonable driving distance from Hemel Hempstead. I have 12g shotguns and .22 air rifle. I am a member of BASC and have the associated insurance. Can do Walk Up or Hide+Decoys. Would consider one off (free/paid - please state price), short-term or anything longer. I am available most days except Saturdays. Thanks Martin

My first post as a new member of the forum..... Just had a ratting session of a lifetime last week. HW100T (.22 full length), Nite-Site Viper, on a Hawke Airmax 4-16 x50 I let loose 76 AA Fields between 6.30pm and 10.30pm 72 rats killed 2 shot twice (to finish them off) 2 misses. (but those may have been accounted for with other shots) I have been spoiled! I have never had a night's shooting like this in over 50 years, and I doubt if I ever will again! Pig farm.... with a LOT of rats! My shooting zone from a fold up chair in front of the pig litter pens. Range between 16 and 22 yards, and with the HW100T propped on tripod sticks. Waited until it got dark, and then I didn't move position all evening! Rod

Hello, In a nutshell I have some Fenn Mk4's and suitable wooden tunnels and a means to restrict the entrance, so all good on that front. My aim is to trap rats which we have living in the garden, possibly not far from the house. However, we also have hedgehogs in the area which I don't want to kill. Research suggests that the hedgehogs can squeeze through a similar gap to a rat. Is this true? Is there a way of discouraging the hedgehogs? Would I be better off with another method of control which wouldn't harm the hedgehogs? I've considered live traps, but would then require a way to dispatch the critters. Poison is feasible, but I'd probably rather a method where I can track what's killed. Advice greatly appreciated. Thanks.
