i shoot 3 times a week generally, and notice pattens with the old rabbertos :good: it has been very nice at night recently if not a little cold, there is hardly a breath of wind and the skys are generally clear, this makes for really hard shooting of rabbits as they can see and hear you a country mile of and make haste to there warrens pretty quick, had some good sport in fog the other morning from 4 am to 6 am but thats been it for a few weeks, as soon as its windy and maybe after a little bit of rain to make grass juicy again the lil blighters will be out en-mass for example went out to a new field not shot much and me and a freind bagged almost 20 bunnys in 20 mins and a fox with the right conditions, same field different conditions we scraped a few long range shots for a couple . were due rain and a bit of wind this week, definately worth getting out raining or not aslong as it isnt to heavy .. im looking forward to shooting thursday because i know its going to br a bag up session aslong as the weather man hs done his bit .

Hi

Yes Ive noticed, normally its like Watership Down all across my land but very little about in most areas, one particular area has been hit really bad by Myxi so Im leaving that area totally.

They will be back!

Total Rabbits shot this year: 1149

just returned from the highlands normally take around 500 plus rabbits for the week there with rimfire .22, and ferrets, but mixy earlier in year has devastated it up there, had 200 clear and 60 with mixy, so not to clever, but it has been like this on previous years, just need to get the timing right, to venture that far north,

has anybody notice that the rbbits seem to be hiding at the moment or is it me and i don't just mean on my permission but all over the place at the minute??? help the because the freezer is empty man needs food.

Would have to disagree. This year the Orchards I shoot are running alive. Worst year I have seen since I have been shooting. I have not been out for a session for a few months for various reasons but am seriously thinking of going today. The Orchard I walk the dog. You walk on a carpet of rabbit droppings.

I have the same problem their was quite a few last year but this year they have just vanished :good:

I got through a fair few hundred last year, and then the Mixy came in and helped, and then, as it's pest control shooting, I hit the kits in March/April, and have continued ever since, adding an HMR to the arsenal.

They are now very shy, and I only see the occasional lone bunny, but they will be back, and so will I. :ernyha:

The area around me is just recovering from a myxi outbreak - thankfully happened during the summer when i dont get much shooting done anyway :)

Although the myxi seems to have passed, as a result there are very few rabbits around - one shoot has hundreds of healthy bunnies still so i take it easy on the others and hammer these ones instead
