Billy.
This has got to be a wind up?! Just go as yourself. If you can talk the talk, then you'll have no problem. If all else fails, try matching this:

Ozzy Fudd
depends what youre doing its mostly (well, all) pest control shooting i do, so i always wear my battered old camo jacket and olive green or camo trousers. NOT starting a row here, but i find round here that if you wear camo and jeans you look like a bit of a *****, and anything else (ie green wax jacket, tweed, etc) you look like someone who'll only appear once or twice a year, which if its pest control, isnt good enough

Ferret Master
Hide the tat on your neck? (this is why you need Facebook, Mungler) Not saying it makes you a bad person but people may jump to the wrong conclusion that are not so accepting of less common tat's. First impressions are everything and you only get to make one. FM

Imperfection
I personally wouldnt use the words 'free pest control'.Be polite and simply ask who you have to see for vermin shooting.Few weeks ago i was walking my dog in nearby fields sfter work and saw someone fixing a tractor so i just asked him who i would have to see to shoot woodies. He said "me!" and within 30 seconds i got his permission.I already knew he was the farmer, but just used the question as an icebreaker. Delbert
For canvassing presentable Army style pullover you know the ones patches on shoulders clean pressed overall trousers combat style and polished boots that should set you aside from the ****** and give an air of efficiency . There's a lot to be said for farmers green overalls if you are visiting farms tho' no handyman/roofers etc wear the style and theres a lot to be said for familiarity. CZ550Kevlar
For my first permission asking trek i wore standard army DPM trousers and a black fleece and black not polished boots but clean. so long as you`re not caked in mud and crud and keep your appearance tidy then most farmers will be fine. cloud9
we just go in our camo gear there is normaly 2 of us when we are shootin and we are always lookin for more so if we see a bit of land thats not ours 1 stays with the guns the other go's to have a talk with the farmer even when we see the farmer in the field ploughin we wait at the other end of his/her field then just have a chat we have tried door knocking dressed smart it dont seem to work the same but your insurance go's along way
Delbert
delbert, thats the jumper i got, cant find any combats anywere? was thinking jungle boots? Sorry thats me being imprecise, I meant combat (aka cargo) style trousers the workmans type usually extra side pockets sewn in crease seam so they always look-well workman-like any overall suppliers should have them usually cheap as chips. So long as the boots are decent (no need to bull them up) and clean it creates a good impression. I want to appear that I take care of my appearance and equipment and by implication I am responsible and to be trusted not the least bit dodgy.
