clueless1
Followong on from the topic regarding the SAS cammo trousers are there any that people would recommend? I'm looking for a pair of warm, windproof, camo trousers. Warm being important with winter around the corner. Not too expensive but realise that you tend to get what you pay for. The sort of trousers that you could sit in a hide for a few hours in the middle of January and still be able to stand up to pee; but still able to walk around the farm and cross fences in. Thans for and advice Edited October 5, 2009 by clueless1
Ozzy Fudd
how about a set of goretex camo over trousers? i wear tracksuit bottoms beneath mine, great for keeping dry (esp with our winters) but not too bulky, and can wear whatever you want underneath

Thans for and advice They don't quite meet the spec but what about a pair of olive moleskin trousers? If you're sitting in a hide they're bland enough to blend in with most things, and I was standing in rain that was stinging my cheeks it was so windy last weekend and my legs were still warm. £29 from John norris... http://www.johnnorris.co.uk/shop/5787-john...n-trousers.html (BTW, if you do go for these you have to wash them at 30 Deg C, not 40 or you get that 'a bit too tight around the nuts' effect until they've stretched out a bit.) Beardo
not cheap, but you'll not regret the cost when sitting in a wind and snow swept hide (i speak from experience). Deerhunter Ram Trousers (camo or olive) Micro fibre, Deer-Tex, Frost-proof silicone buttons Details: High back with fleece (keep the wind and rain out, even when you are sitting) Knee pleat Knife pockets Thigh pockets 2 front pockets 2 hip pockets Adjustable foot width cost £60-£80 depending on where you get them. Delbert
I've a set of Stormkloth camo they are much too warm for active shooting unless its sub zero but A1 for hide or roost or duck flighting. There are several grades the lightweight are pretty good too.One or two traders on fleaby sell them. They are very like a good tweed suit in weight but much warmer waterproof and have that stealthy nap so no rustling like you get with nylon coated and much as I love my old Barbour Solway they don't stiffen up when the frost hits like it does so thats a big plus. I was out lamping the other night with my mate who was wearing a pair of deerhunter montana trousers and those things were noisy as **** with the lining In them jase. Like Nick says, I would always buy the Ram, not the Montana because they are quieter. And when used with thermal underwear they work well. I sat in my highseat when it was snowing and blowing last winter and was lovely and toastie warm. No wet bum, no wind chill, no noise and relatively cheap too!
