Another go at the pigeons

Me and dad went out again today and we started on the rape that joins on to an old barley stubble thay has been undersown with grass.

We did not bother with decoys because there was a nice flightline going over where we had set the hide up and we used the dead birds as decoys once we had a few. We shot the field for just over an hour and we ended up with 30 pigeons

After we had packed up we moved down to one of our main woods where the birds were flighting over and we spent another hour shooting there before heading to the chip shop

We shot another 31 so total for the day was 61.

Nice to see your making the most of it David....Very quiet down here at the mo...Nothing in the air to speak of...Well done...Nice bag for an hour..1 every 2 minutes.....Result... :D

Cheers mate

We must have seen the best part of 1500 pigeons flying round in the morning mostly in little groups. When we got to the wood there was a flock of around 500 pigeons on our neighbours ploughing and about 4-5 even bigger flocks flying round so it looks like the birds are starting to get into the large flocks ready for winter.
