kdubya
Yep I watched it and yes its frightening to see how our elderly are treated? my eldest daughter works in an old peoples home and if you think what you saw tonight is bad then dont ever talk to her!! try a food bill of £200 per week to feed 20 and it will give you a clue? but what I dont understand is why you call blair? christ they are pumping money in which is more than the right wing thieves were doing if it had been up to them there would be NO national health service never mind one to complain about? cheers Keith

paulos
hi LB, is that the one where they sent some girl with no experiece at all to work as a carer? i remember seeing that some time ago, and although im only 19 it actually made me afraid of growing old! i think its sick how our old folks are treated, they fought, scrimped and saved for our freedom, many losing everything they held dear, and now theyre treated like farmyard animals. if they all had turbans, afros or didnt speak a word of the queens own theyd recieve all thats available. sick! :< :< :< :<
jpw99
An elderly 73 year old next door but one was taken into hospital after a stroke a week ago. Her son has just flown over from australia and arrived yesterday quite chirpy and cheerful. After visiting his mother today he returned a broken man having seen how his mother is being "looked after". I could have cried when he related all the horrors he had seen and been informed of by his other relatives Jim
longnetter
Stuart Burnham who was interviewed about his mom who later died, is a bus driver at my garage. He has medals from the Falklands war, suffered a lot of delayed stress and had menengitis as a further handicap to deal with. He overcame all this and looked after his mother and father daily for years, as well as holding down a full time job and running his own home as well. He went through all sorts of channels about the care his mother WASN'T receiving and eventually lost both his parents within a few weeks of each other. Panorama has flushed out a very nasty **** in the form of that uncaring male nurse! We need Dynorod down there now and get rid of all the other crapheads that are supposedly there to care for our loved ones! the last engineer
I hear ya LB , as a side to this ,my father had a knee replacement operation earlier last year at Weston Super Mare General , all went well and he was out and about shortly after with physio and so on ,the doctors and nurse's were Swedish , reason being they want to work there for their training ,i have no problem with that , 2 days after the op my father and a few others in the ward were interveiwed by the press (medical branch) asking about treatment before during and after ops by the Swiss ,they all agreed twas top class treatment, some insisted that their op time wait was reduced by up to 1.5 years . so much for the National Health ,wonder if you'l be better off going abroad for ops ?? Browning
Mrs Browning and I watched the program, and it had us both in tears. What an absolute bloody scandal. Heads should roll over this one. The other day I was listening to Jeremy Vine on Radio 2, about an Afghan war criminal that had fled his country and taken up residence here in the UK. because we have no extradition treaty with Afghanistan we put him on trial here. Total cost of his trial ? £3Million !!!!! Total cost of 10 years in prison? £30,000 a year for 10 years = £300,000 Total cost to this country (people like us as taxpayers) £3,300,000. Meanwhile the NHS is short of cash and employing low lifes like we saw last night to look after our war HEROES! This #### country just gets worse
Wookie
A friend at work has just been told that her dentist is not going to be accepting NHS work any more and they want 15 quid a month to keep her on the list of patients they will see. It is now going to be cheaper for her to not go on the list, but to fly to Aberdeen once every six months to see her old dentist. I think that this place was the last NHS dentist in her town too. As for me, I am keeping my dentist in Ipswich, even though it is 80 miles away from where I live, purely because I have yet to find an NHS dentist near my house. It's a disgrace Wookie

Axe
Its absolutely disgusting, why aren't paople held accountable. I was recently taken in to Brighton's Royal Sussex Hospital with suspected heart trouble. The organisation was rediculous. I am supposed to be having a follow up appointment, but havent received any confirmation. I have contacted the MASU department and asked for the surgeons name and the response I got was 'i'm not sure, but i think you were under Dr. Woodford'. Considering how inportant my case was, thats not very reassuring. No follow up appointment, staff without a clue, and after leaving messages with the Dr's secretary, not even a phone call back!! Its appauling to say the least! Lucky for me, my suspected heart attack was only a nasty chest infection that was caused by the aircon in my car!!!! Regards, Axe. Axe, you can get a can of disinfectant to add to your aircon, it works. Martin, more and more people go abroad for operations now. France being one of the quickest, waiting list is less than a month  India is also a regular spot because of the prices. Your pound goes a long way there and they are a THIRLD WORLD country :( LB
Axe
Axe, you can get a can of disinfectant to add to your aircon, it works. Yeah someone had mentioned this a couple of weeks back. Actually it wasnt my car that caused the problem. It was my colleagues new Mercedes E class!!!!! I told him he should have bought a V70 like me! Any clues as to o where to get this stuff, I beleive its an airosol can that you open and leave in the car whilst you run the aircon on recirculate for around 40mins. Regards, Axe. Axe, I will get the name of the company that sell it for you over the weekend. If you go to a decent Aircon specialist garage, not a main dealer one, they will probably sell you one. You introduce it into the intake system and it takes less than 10 minutes to run. It's action is that of a flushing agent to burn off all those horrible germs. You may have noticed in your car that when you turn the aircon on, you will get a stange smell momentarily ( smells like baby wee to me ) this is a fungus, algae or something, it can be dangerous if allowed to continue unabated. Let me know how you get on. PS. Bosch aircon specialists are the best agents. LB
