Catamong
Went out with Garyb and Stealth Stalker to have another go at the foxes last night, we covered pretty much the same ground as we did a couple of weeks back, I was driving the Frontera, SS lamped and squeeked, Gazza was manning the .223 with his new scope. Here's a pic of the trio we bagged a couple of weeks back: We nabbed the first one last night on a field of disced up stubble, he was so taken by SS's squeeking, he nearly ran into the 4x4, (I was just loading my catapult when Gazza felled him..!!) The next one was across a ploughed field, a good shot at about 150 yards, a cracking shot, then the final one of the night came from a field of drilling, this one was a bit crafty and wouldn't come straightaway, we had to outflank him, yet again Gazza felled him with a lovely clean shot. We also shot 8 rabbits with SS manning the .22, it should have been 18, but he simply couldn't hit a cows backside with a shovel last night, that's the way it goes sometimes, so here we are, 3 shots, 3 kills: A good evenings work..!! :look: Cat. Frenchieboy
Great result for all of you! Does your Frontera have the rear section of the roof that lifts off, if like mine it does they make a fantastic shooting wagon!

Stealth Stalker
Yep another good night out, apart from my inability to hit said cows **** :look: I'd had a busy week! Highlight of the night for me was the fox I'd called in 200yds off the ridge without Gary even noticing....he was eyeing up his mate still sillouetted on the ridge, I had to give him a kick in the ribs to alert him to charlie stood broadside in the beam of the light. BANG fox number 2 in the bag:yes: Garys motor this morning at the shoot, looked like he'd reversed in to bus stop full of people. Claret & fox guts everywhere :look: SS
al4x
you must have less smelly foxes than us, had one the other day I thought twice about putting in the back of the pickup let alone bunging them in the cabin with you :look:

Indeed it does.. I wouldn't have anything to do with owning a vauxhall, if it wasn't for that single feature !
al4x
you wait till SS has his new one Gary, then you'll want something with a proper shooting platform on

al4x
its so nice to be able to lamp and shoot sitting down when you just have to lean forward on the roof to take a shot on rough ground saves your ribs taking a pounding especially if the driver doesn't know where all the furrows at the edge of fields are! Tell me about it al4x, my ribs/hips are black & blue  All we can hear, as the Cat lines up another furrow are sinister giggles coming from the drivers seat Gazza you really need to get some heavy duty pipe lagging SS
