Blackbart
The last box of hornady i bought was a mixture of red and orange and they all shot the same so i dont think the colour means owt.
MC
I have used the blue tips, apprently loaded wrong but I think that is shooting fiction. I normally use remington and can swap between the two with no noticable accuracy difference or change in zero. I am sure there probably is but not worth worrying about when out bashing bunnies. realtreedave
i also used to use remingtons and switched to hornday blue tips, and the only percievable difference that i have found is that they produce slightly tighter groups as well as being cheaper

monkeymagic1969
The blue tips are because of an over run of .17mach II ammo ( they use blue tips) & hornady used the blue tips - all .17 ammo is made in the same factory
George1990
I use these and get very good groups. Nearly got a hole through hole on my last zero check just off a bipod Well chuffed. Got a hundred or so Remington but haven't had had a chance to test. Was really really windy last time I tried so a waste of time.
cooter
The blue tips are because of an over run of .17mach II ammo ( they use blue tips) & hornady used the blue tips - all .17 ammo is made in the same factory CCI load for most of the main HMR producers. The blue tips are, as already said, Mach II heads loaded to the HMR spec. I have put a few thousand through my HMR, and they are good enough, but Remmies are better in mine (just a lot more money). Blackbart
In a recent made up survey, 9 out of ten rabbits said they couldnt give a **** what colour you use.
Highlander
In a recent made up survey, 9 out of ten rabbits said they couldnt give a **** what colour you use. I'd second that I can't say I've ever noticed any difference between the various named brands and as said they're all made by CCI so probably no difference between the loads just the branding. The accuracy of my .17HMR amazes me every time I squeeze the trigger!
Beardo
i've never really noticed any difference in ballistic tip .17hmr brands either, got blues at the mo, perfectly happy with them

fullbore
I bought 500 of these last time I was on a spending frenzy, well pleased, accurate, good expansion, and top notch at those over 1,000 yard shots too
mosa
Just an update chaps yes they seem as good as the remmingtons so a little saving on their price with matching performance suits me
DJLeslie
I have some at the moment and they seem ok. Not tried them on paper yet but shot 99 out of 100 bunnies the other night lamping, so that can't be bad! £3.50 a box cheaper than my usual Remmys. I also heard the same, that they had mach 2 tips.
