smiiithy
I need to pick up a pair of size 9 wellies by Sunday. Can’t justify Le Chameau or Hunters - just want something cheap, cosy and comfy. Suggestions anyone?

robmiller
Would advise to spend as much as you can mate. An uncomfortable pair of wellies is the worst thing ever, especially when your feet are cold. Will last you a fair few years aswell Go for a pair of much boots or neoprene hunters for 60/70 quid
smiiithy
I don't think I've got 60 or 70 quid to spare at the moment mate - with paying for the shotgun, air-rifle tuning, cabinet and a whole list of other shooting related gear recently. My leather combat boots have always done me proud but I could really do with a pair of wellies for this time of year Edited November 20, 2009 by smiiithy
jojusa
If your on a budget Mike, I would go and try on those rydales at YT and see how they fit and what they feel like. The neoprene lining should make them a warm boot and try to check the sole is pretty rigid, you don't want soft/bendy soles or your feet will ache. smiiithy
Sounds like a plan. I'm going to go tomorrow and if I like the look of them I'll get a piar, if not I'll lend my Dad's and get a better pair after pay day
smiiithy
PS I used to sometimes get boots a size up for wearing thick socks does anybody do this with wellies?
jojusa
PS I used to sometimes get boots a size up for wearing thick socks does anybody do this with wellies? I got a size up for extra socks (also cos I bought from internet so couldn't try them on) but with neoprene muck boots you don't need extra socks, they are already very warm. Your lucky, you can go and try the boots on to make sure you get the right size. Don't get them too big or they'll be a pain in the ***** if your planning to do a lot of walking in them.
