hendersons
as it says in the title. Ihave been invited on my first driven day next monday and was wondering do I need to wear a tie and does it matter if it has a picture on it, as all the ones in the shooting shops seem to have. many thanks for any replies nick
Catamong
Yes, I would wear a tie, doesn't have to have a pheasant on it, just avoid pink. Cat.
Fatcatsplat
You don't generally need to, but stick one in your pocket just in case

hendersons
You don't generally need to, but stick one in your pocket just in case unfortunately can't do that as I have to tie it infront of the tieing instructions on the net
borntoshoot
it really depends on the shoot, the shoot i beat on all guns wear either shirt and tie or just shirt and jumper with collar over the top of jumper. if its a more formal shoot i would do but if your really not sure and dont want to embarras yourself you could always buy a tie and take it with you and if everyone else is wearing one sneakily put it on and if they aren't then leave it in the car. also if you buy a specific shooting tie then maybe but some guns on my local shoot just wear a blue or pink, red, green plain tie. hope this helps. utectok
no you don't need a tie dress respectable but attitude is more important than the way you dress IMHO will
Delbert
At this time of the year a cravat would be my choice.
Catamong
no you don't need a tie dress respectable but attitude is more important than the way you dress IMHO will Yeah, but he wasn't asking about attitude, you may get away with casual dress in the wilds of bonny Scotland, but you could be sorely embarrassed if you turned up under dressed on a formal driven day in the Cotswolds. It's always best to ask whoever has invited you, they won't be offended. Cat.
malkiserow
you could always go for the compromise and wear a camo tie
utectok
Hi catamong I have never worn a tie not even with my kilt! I'm yet to feel out of place even in formal situations but each to his own I guess, or maybe I'm just strange?!
