Paddy Galore!
Don't think you're allowed a family member as a counter signator, no matter how far removed.

Paddy Galore!
i think the law changed, anyone who's known you for the last 2-3 yrs can do it, if they're kosher.

It does state this on the shotgun cert application, and home office guide lines. Edited January 16, 2010 by mike.ginty

vulpicide
In strathclyde they would rather it was someone who new you from a shooting perspective /fellow gun on a shoot /shoot captain club official etc they would be better qualified as to safety suitability etc when I countersign someones cert I ask myself would I let him walk behind me with a gun!
