RIGHT TO LEFT CROSSERS

Have taken a look at my bad habits and corrected my stance and gun hold,so i can get my shooting to move up the ladder but with doing this have hit a wall ,right to left crossers

left to right no problem hit most of the time to which some say are harder, but am getting frustrated with right to left,i can hit them with my old bad habits but that is no use if i want to get onwards and upwards

with a bad day on low house skeet and r-l crossers i dont want to get into the mental senario of here it comes i am going to miss it,i need some advice if any one has any ideas

I'm by no means experienced but find it infuriating if i can't hit a certain type. I check the basics first. Left foot pointing where i want to break the clay. Barrel at the clay path height and halfway between where you first see the clay and where you want to break it. Smooth motion and don't under any circumstances stop the gun moving. The best place to practice these is on a skeet range. Start at the left most post. And gradually work to the centre post. That seems to work for me.

i have gone back to basics even under instruction just can not crack it,have been shooting with bad habits a while with average results, just breaking into a new league,i have been done on the skeet today and just fluffed 40% of the low house as they come from the right

try shooting them from left to right with less lead :good:

left to right is suposed to be harder but hit them every time,as shooting across the body as i am right handed :) just right to left ,in coming no problem trap no problems ground shots no probs just r-l shooting properly

yes i would say they are high as i have always had lead sorted out,any suggestions

Think you have answered your own question , if you have an idea where your going wrong don't keep shooting in the same place correct it .

Stop and think if you have to, even on the stand and don't call for the bird until your ready :good:

I reckon your either lifting your head as the clay disappears out of view behind your barrels resulting in shooting over

or

your left eye is taking over (for the same reason clay disappears) resulting in shooting in front

try the swing through method and squeeze as you blank (as you would an oncoming bird over head)

:good:

If you are shooting off your right shoulder and you have a dominent right eye you will need to reduce your lead on right to left targets. The gap between your eyes is a tad magnified at 30 foot. Thats in the simplest terms possible without looking over your shoulder. Five minutes with a good coach should put you right. from Auntie :good::)

I see your from Salisbury, that's my part of the country.

If you can get up to Mere (Wood Farm) just off the A303 on a Wednesday/Friday/Sunday I`ll have a look at the problem for you. Any other days I`m at other clubs, too far away for you.

Give me a P.M if your interested.
