killer_pigeon
i bought a load of these with my new gun as recommended by chap in shop and am having a 10-15%% mis-fire ratio so far. I am assuming as they are cheap, they're rubbish please correct me Can anybody recommend a slightly better .22LR HV ammo please and approx price please Also does anybody have any tips on how to get the mis-fire ones out of the chamber apart from prising with a sharp object. thanks
Vince Green
Remingtons are a good make and you shouldnt be getting misfires. Also the misfires should eject with no problem. You don't say whether you are getting a good strike or not. There are a few possibilities but the first thing you have to do is switch brands and see how you get on with them. It might be a bad batch or something wrong with your rifle. If they are that tight in the chamber it could be causing misfires if they are not going in properly. Is your chamber clean? Is the rifle new or just new to you? It could be still full of protective gunge.

casts_by_fly
try cleaning your bolt first. Give the bolt head a good soak at least over night in acetone, alcohol, or white spirits (preference in that order). Give it a good clean with a brush, especially around the firing pin. If you're mechanically minded, then taking the bolt apart to clean would be a good idea. After it is clean and dry, give it a light lube with a light gun oil. From the factory, guns usually have a fairly thick grease packed into mechanical/moving parts. The rounds you got might have a slightly thicker rim, thus requiring a little harder strike. To get them out, the bolt should eject them with no problems. Thanks, Rick

I assume it will loosen up over time as its new and it may pull out the non firing ones later ? i will give the gun a thorough cleaning and try again thanks
killer_pigeon
i just found a bullet that misfired 3 times, ( i spun it round twice after 1st misfire) Looking at it i wasnt sure if the firing pin is hitting a bit too close to the rim edge or is this normal any advice would be apprecisted, thanks PS sorry for blurry photo

bruno22rf
Brutal truth time (in my opinion) -dont touch any remmy/cci/ winnie-stick with RWS or Eley and i can practically garauntee that if you get a miss-fire it will be down to the gun.As for the price -you get what you pay for -any .22lr round is about as cheap as you can get ammo wise. You've bought a decent rifle so why feed it with cheap rounds?
