Yes, it's a common fault with Betty's I'm afraid, the remedy is quite simple:

 

1. Open gun

2. Remove snapcaps

3. Chuck snapcaps in nearest bin

4. Curse your gun dealer for selling you something you didn't need

5. Close gun

6. Return gun to cabinet.

 

Problem solved..!! :lol:

Ah the old snapcap chessnut...... God I love PW! Personally I think they have their uses once I've reassembled my action I like to see if it works and blasting a 12 bore in the garden upsets the locals! Having said that I only rebuild my action when it's broken so far only a couple of times in 3 years or so.
