Right, been having a chat with my mate who runs a farm in Bolton By Bowland which is between Skipton and Clitheroe. As I am out of action for a minimum of 4-8 weeks and lambing starts mid march we need someone to sort out a few foxes and as many crows as you can get.

However, anybody who has only a few posts on here or isn't a regular face on here need not apply as I need to sort of know you and trust you. This is a very good friend of mine and not just a random farmer I go to every now and then so trust is a massive issue here. She is happy for me to find somebody to sort the problem out provided I feel comfortable with them.

The farm is a fair old size and is a mix of fields, stream crossing to the other side of the farm (only 1 foot deep normally, we cross it in the vitara) and rushes. Shotgun and rimmy is fine. Not 100% sure on Centrefire clearance but I wouldn't think it would be an issue. An open ticket holder would be ideal. The land is far from flat and has some very good backstops but also a few downhill sections. 4x4 use is fine provided you take care and don't chew the land up too much. Although I have got mine stuck once and left a mess in one gateway I had to sort out. :good::lol:

The hitlist is as follows:

Foxes - priority. We can even pinpoint where the 2 dens are so less roaming around if it helps.

Crows - As many as you can hit. There's plenty to go at.

OFF the hitlist:

Rabbits. Reason being the land is still recovering from mixy so hardly any about as it is.

DEER. On NO account must any of the deer which is up there be shot! This is a very strict rule!

I won't just choose the first to say yes either. I will choose someone I feel I can genuinly trust and who is capable of doing the main task in hand. Sorry if all the above sounds a bit regimental or OTT but we really need to find somebody who will respect what has been asked.

Camping over if you feel like it is fine too. Loo and hot water etc is available up there. You must have some form of insurance in place too.

This is the first time we have had to ask anybody else to shoot the land and it will no doubt only be temporary until I am back on my feet again but you never know. I'm sure you can all appreciate how hard it is to let someone else on your shoots when you have it exclusive to yourself.

Don't expect an instant reply as I need to get a list together of interested people. NO pm's either thanks, just post on this thread. I'll let you all know who get's it too so you aren't left wondering.

Cheers Lee.

They keep rare breed parrots there too so shooting large caliber rifles close to the house is a no. Although we have shot the .17hmr near with no problems. Shotgun and rimmy is fine. Not 100% sure on Centrefire clearance but I wouldn't think it would be an issue. An open ticket holder would be ideal. I can be up there whenever pal. Only got shotgun but I'm willing to give the foxes a bash and can nail the crows all day. I'm out of work so can be up Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays and all weekend if needed.

My insurance is through the CA.

ETA I'm only 20 mins from Hudds so could visit you first for a chat

Hi Lee,

I can help with the crows and foxes no problem. BASC insured and SGC only.

I am quite mature (57), I live at Holmfirth but often stay with my brother who lives in Waddington nr Clitheroe. I am retired and so can spend as much time as is required. If you want to meet I am happy to pop in and see you face to face before any decision.

Willing to pair up with anyone else you choose - PM me if you like for phone details etc.

Best regards

Roger
