Mate we can all suggest a gun for you to buy :good: BUT the best advise I think anyone can give on here is try quite a few out and get one your happy with make sure it fits right and is not to heavy for you  you say your looking for an O/U ....... never know you might prefer a S/S in the end, myself i prefer a semi-auto :good: gives me the one extra shot in case i miss with the first two :good::good:

Good luck with the gun hunting mate keep us posted on what you buy :good::hmm:

May sound a bit bias....take a look at a Lanber Sporting Deluxe, some tidy ones around the 300-400 mark,That will leave you £350 ish to buy loads of cartridges......

but whatever you get, make sure it fits you.

Difficult this, many guns will last you, its just a matter of if you want them to??? :good::good:

VERY few people start with a gun they keep, most learn a VAST amount from their first gun and have a MUCH better idea what to buy with their second!

I suggest an adequate gun that you will still be able to move on at a sensible price, that way if you and the sport don't get on with each other you will not have wasted too much money, and if you do go for it, you will still get a decent trade in for the gun you do want to get in a year or two!!
