joeainscow
Hi, I overheard two people at my local gun shop talking about how putting large shot sizes through a full choke can cause some of the shot to break up? Is this true? I shoot foxes with RC50's in number 2 and a 3/4 choke. Never thought about using a full choke before. Joe

Joe Surely lead would squash if it did anything, rather than break
Dekers
Not too much of an issue until you get bigger...SSG, SG, LG..but not many use (or can even find) this stuff anyway!
henry d
It`s possible with some non-tox shot but with lead and large lettered shot it is only likely to blow the pattern.
Quickshot
I shoot RC50 number 2's aswell, but i try not to shoot them in anything more than half. Not sure why, but just thought that, that much lead couldnt be good for ME going through a full choke! QS
joeainscow
Cheers for your thoughts. I actually went out last night with a full choke to try and find out first hand. Full choke works fine :-) I've just posted some pics in the picture section of the fox. Joe
henry d
So it seems just remember to pattern the choke and cartridge together at ranges you are likely to see foxy. I found that Winchester XX no.2`s were top banana and if you don`t agree I will buy any amount off you

Joe Don't worry about putting #2s through full choke, you can safely fire SSGs through as long as they're nothing other then lead, I wouldn't even risk copper coated, as I don't know much about it. I'm talking about full, not sure about turkey or X full, XX etc.
