Dempy
Wow, that is an open ended question! All down to personal preference is'nt it? What is available and what you are looking to do. The obvious answers have to be 20 bore's and semi's for the reduced recoil and if you want it to hold it's money, anything Beretta
J@mes
My missus prefers a semi as it gives her less of a pounding.

apache
Is it for clays? My lass is little but shoots a 12G with 21g carts and has no bother. So long as it fits 12G more versatile and cheaper to feed. Edited June 18, 2010 by apache
Dempy
cheers will have a look at a 20g semi me thinks she got about £300 to play with :look: A friend of mine had a nice little 20g he bought for his daughter, she has lost interset now, I wander if it is just sat in his cabinet doing nothing??? mind you, fair way down to Dorset
Dekers
The 20g was always considered the boys/ladies gun! Forget it today, guns have come a long way and so have carts, there are plenty of suitable 12g and appropriate carts, and semis are always worth considering to! Paul223
12 gauge is much cheaper to feed, bet you can buy quality 12 gauge shells (which will not have as much felt recoil) for the same price or may be cheaper than cheap 20 gauge shells. Have a look at the semi's beretta 302's 303's 391's and benellis ( if you can find a cheap one) are lighter with a slight bit more recoil. Make sure she mounts the gun right or it will kick and buy her a vest with the gel recoil pad in the shoulder :look:
BlaserF3
A mate of mine has a 20 bore Beretta semi and I find that it has more recoil than my 12 bore Beretta semi or even my O/U if I use 21 gm loads. I would recommend a well fitting 12 bore with 21 gms for a lady, another good idea is to buy a reactor pad to fit inside the shooting vest, these are excellent value as they do cut down the recoil as Paul has said. Paul223
one of the good things about the recoil pad is that it does not cover the ball of the shoulder, so theres no excuse for bruised ball of shoulder / biceps

HDAV
My missus uses a club gun at local ground 12G 26" browning game gun fits her well light enough to use and with 21 carts little recoil loves it pity they sell for more than I can afford or I would buy one Edited June 19, 2010 by HDAV
Paddy Galore!
the only time i've ever noticed any recoil with clay loads is if the gun fit and balance is poor, 300-400 will get you a decent lanber in 12g with maybe enough left to have it either fitted or a kick-eze pad fitted. this will help loads mate, a coaching session can help too, if she's new to shooting then stance and mount can be checked and modified, this will help no end with any felt recoil. :( Edited June 19, 2010 by GRAM71
