Beretta28g
Hi ive been thinking that my .22 is a bit noisy, however after being with a mate who has a sak i am so aware of the noise of mine, is there any way i can "play with" the mod to make it quiter? Any ideas fellas? Beretta

Beretta28g
Dont particularly want to shell out more cash, would changing the order of the baffles help?
12borejimbo
The SAK is a great mod, how can you say you wont shell out for £32 on a decent well used and reputable mod, Ive got a SAK on my HMR and cant fault it, without the mod it goes boom, with the mod on you can hear the firing pin click then bullet and then 30yds past the muzzle you hear the supersonic crack, a bit like using a stinger or HV bullet in a .22. Get one, its the dogs.
jay222
i dont think there is much difference between a sak and a parker and hale mod
Frenchieboy
You might like to try stripping and cleaning the Parker Hale if you haven't done that recently, it might quieten it down a little. Otherwise the SAK is the way to go!

Glenshooter
it was after cleaning hat its been getting louder Haven't used my Parker Hale for a while now but I think that they get quieter with use - a layer of powder residue stuff coats the baffles and deadens the sounds. But the Parker Hale is a pretty quiet moderator and I can't imagine that you'd need anything quieter.

Glenshooter
Cheers mate, ill try that its had about 300 rounds sience last clean. 300 shots should be enough to deaden it. I have one on a FAC PCP and it is like a shotgun with no moderator and whisper quiet with the Parker Hale. If you do decide to get a different model, try and borrow one to test first as I really can't see anything improve (noticeably) on the PH. I tried 6 moderators on my rimmie a few years ago and the PH was among the best.
