AndyCM
Anyone got any tips? sako751sg
As Andy as said, but feed for a few nights before going out and make sure they are coming regular.Wind permitting you should nail it/some.
Dekers
Dog food almost always works, to be honest I tend to use a bowl, take it away with you when you go, train fox to a time. Heavy 12g cartridge, BB probably favourite, close as possible and tight choke...
J@mes
Thanks, got 4 tins of chappy to lay out over the coming nights and I'll try and get some heavy shot and change the choke in my hatsan! If not, 32g 6 will do at close range I guess?

scolopax
I would not use 32gram 6 shot on fox unless at very close range, get 36 gram 3 shot minimum, preferably 42 gram BB or 1 shot, good to 30- 35 yards then.
al4x
best way would be to get all the guns together and have a few drives through all your wooded areas, its far easier to pick them up with a shotgun that way, otherwise from a high seat 3's a fox call or two and lots of patience and luck will be required
vole
I shot my last fox with 32g of 6 . I was picking up dead crows when I saw him at about 20yards . I put 3 into him as he ran right to left dropping after about 10 yards. Would much prefer BB but it was lambing time and he had been a major problem to farmer. Never gave it a moments thought just emptied the gun . Did the trick but much less confident about the lighter loads.
mal mason
Anyone got any tips? As I'm going out Tuesday and Thursday nights with a group to try and bag the foxes we have seen on our new shoot I shoot rifle now to get rid of fox ,but the only thing i could say is use a big load stay down wind and be very quiet that is one massive key, if theres a group of you i would split up to different locations, sit tight and let the fox come to your call. My self and a friend used to shoot fox with shot gun with AAA and had a 750.000 candle light lamp, when fox was located kept the lamp on the fox but varied the calls, back then they used to come in 9 times out of ten im sure times have changed but i think the fox will think almost the same now as they did 20yrs ago when we did it, the only time they would stop and do one is when they either smelt us or heard us, they usually come in cos they just think the light is a factory light if its left on, we had 80% of the fox come in to around 20yrds before we let it have it. any way what ever tactic you use and what ever way you think of doing it GOOD LUCK and happy hunting, would love to know how you go on
