I need your help please.

I need a new set for the winter (NOT NECESSARILY Winter Pattern)....

Requirements

Jacket (possibly with hood but not essential) and Trousers

1 Flexible and quiet

2 Warm(ish) and windproof(ish), but NOT necessarily waterproof (I have separate stuff for that)

3 Buttons, zips, etc covered, or SOFT FEEL

4 Suitable for all year use

5 NOT heavy

6 Sensibly priced

If I can meet all the conditions I will be amazed, but as close as you can get will be fine.......

I spent ages at the Game Fair looking at the stuff and couldn't make up my mind, probably spoiled for choice, your experiences and input appreciated, please also tell me if you bought something and it was rubbish!

Many thanks

I have a Jack Pyke Hunter Jacket

comes with spec below but i bought it for the hood and the waterproof fold down seat, its in English oak and i paid £25 off ebay for it which was a bargain but you can get them between £50-£60

Good for the pigeons in winter but more important is the Muck boots wellies in camo, keep your feet warm and the rest of you will be warm also :)

i just use an old soldier 95 jacket, does all of the above for me (except the buttons on the pockets being covered), usually warm enough with a t-shirt but sometimes i stick a jumper underneath it if its very cold, even used it in latvia in -15 degree temps! :good: :good:

Cheers guys

I'm quite well stocked with surplus DPM and wanted a little upgrade!!

:good::good:

It seems I'm getting to be a bit of a tart and have just had some brilliant work done on my wooden WMR stock, I don't want to scratch it and I need some new clothes, so it seemed an appropriate time to invest in some decent new gear!

I've had a Deerhunter Ram 3 in 1 camo jacket for a few months now. Comes with inner fleece and 'deer-tex' liner - all of which are removable for all year round use. I got caught in a thorn bush a while back and thought it would be the end of the coat, but it survived without a mark on it despite me actually having to take it off to free myself from the thorns!

I paid £100 on ebay for a brand new one - listed features are:

100% Waterproof, breathable and windproof

-Deer-Tex® membrane

-Strong 2-way zipper

-Cord draw in collar/waist/bottom

-Extra shoulder width

-Adjustable cuffs

-Cuffs with neoprene

-Frost-proof silicone buttons

-Extra long back

-Underarm ventilation

-2 chest pockets

-2 front pockets with inlet and cartridge pockets

-2 Napoleon pockets

-1 game pocket

jahti jakt stuff is great i've had my set for a little 3 years and its still good and you can get a complete set for the price of a jacket made by other similar quality brands like deerhunter, jack pyke and the rest. i think its arctic-outdoors who sells it you give them your measurements and they send you the size you need straight to your door, simples :good:
