Mungler
Mate, that's a lot of money for those miles, even on a Jap Diesel.
malkiserow
About 30 MPG They do tons of miles but that seems a bit expensive for 160+K
busdennis
Mate, that's a lot of money for those miles, even on a Jap Diesel. that kms not miles, i doubled checked one owner since import ( that garage imported it) full serive history by that garage
fortune82
One of my mates has a 2001 reg example with 250,000 miles on the clock with no major hitches yet. Off road its excellent. He claims he gets mid 30's mpg on the motorway and 30ish elsewhere.
biakalblaster
I have averaged 24-25mpg over the last year in my automatic colorado - yr2000. 3.0TD with the newer D4D engine that became available in 2001 - 30mpg is achievable, but not sure if 30mpg possible in the older engine (like i have) and automatic
mollydog
got the same car it averages around 25 mpg but if its used around town alot i get 20 mpg

biakalblaster
s this a series 90? - yes it is a 90series, but an import not a UK model, the UK model is Colorado and import a prado what does it mean by the term full time 4 wheeldrive? the dealer said its still a switchable between 4 and 2 wheel drive never heard of a 2wd 90 series, normally full time 4wd, with centre difflock High, and lowbox the UK colorado has a rear axle electric difflock, on prado's the back axle usually has LSD diff

It's basically a 4th generation Surf and the one here has cost an absolute fortune. Air suspension on rear (if fitted) is prone to trouble and very expensive, rear adjustable dampers packed up, brakes self destructed and destroyed caliper and disc, air con compressor packed up and no recon available. The four wheel drive system is = 2 wheel drive high for dry roads, 4 wheel drive high with centre diff open for wet roads and snow etc, 4 wheel drive high with centre diff locked for fast offroad, 4 wheel drive low for extreme off road or towing off road. I think the one we have must be a one off rogue as other Surfs have a very good reputation and mine (at 260,000km) still runs great (touch wood )
J@mes
why would you want to lock the centre diff for fast on road driving, surely that would just wind the transmission up and eventually blow it apart? I remember the noise when my disco 300TDi centre diff unwound itself after being stuck in during road driving - I thought a bomb had gone off under the car!! I remember the noise when my disco 300TDi centre diff unwound itself after being stuck in during road driving - I thought a bomb had gone off under the car!! If you read it again I said fast OFFroad The simplistic definition of when to lock a diff is if you can spin a wheel in normal driving, if yes then lock a diff, if no then do not lock diff. As for land rover products if you spin the wheels with the centre diff open you WILL destroy the centre diff as it's not rated for that speed differential.
