henry d
Book says 22.2 to 24 gn of vit N133 and I settled with 23gn with Vmax 50gn, and my trusty notebook says it gave a cloverleaf group @ 100yds. Both of the above weights are compressed loads so be careful when filling and don`t lose any out of the case. Other than that you will be aware of how good the load is

jamie g
reloader 7 powder for the 222 is very good mate. fast burning to so its not as loud as some powders when shot. im using 19.5 grains of reloader 7 [ this is not the fastest load but most accurate] privi brass cci br4 primers 40 grain blizking here is a 4 shot group at 100 yards. jamie g
one to try to is the same as above but with a 50 grain speer tnt bullet. thesy where designed for the 222. they are hollow points and do alot of damage on anything they hit. and the best thing is there only £11 for
Evil Elvis
Thanks dude, would you adjust the powder for the 50gr? bob300w also recommended speer, what does the tnt bit stand for?
jamie g
Thanks dude, would you adjust the powder for the 50gr? bob300w also recommended speer, what does the tnt bit stand for? yes you can run it faster the start weight for powder on the manual is 19 grains and go's up to 21 this is reloader 7 powder and 50 grain tnt. i dont no what tntmean but there superb bullets. they expand really well. i use 40 grain blizkings tho. as ive got a good load for the 222 using those. but when i get more time i wil tweek a load for the tnt bullets. they are really easy to load for and even the worse groups shot more then well enough for foxing ! Evil Elvis
Thanks dude. Im going to go for the 50gr as we have munty on the land and the odd chinese water deer so to save faffing in going to stick to a 50gr. Out of curiosity, how much difference in poa do you get between the 40 and the 50gr? i have a few 40's but havent used them as I was worried about the poa being different....spose i should really try them on some paper

Evil Elvis
Ok, just re-zeroed. I zeroed using 50gr sako soft points until i was doing clover leaf groups at 100 yards. Then tried 55gr ppu soft points....they all went in the 2" bull. Then 50gr remington ballistic tips....they all went in the 2" bull. Then 50gr fmjs....they all went in the 2" bull. Then 40gr ballistic tip.......they went 1.75 inches high so easily compensated for!!! (my new fox load!!!) Overall well pleased......apart from about £30 of ammo Ive never confessed to being a paper target shooter but apart from the 40gr they were all in a 2" bull.........thats some very dead foxes......Id imagine that it would be so more more satisfying If i had loaded them myself!!!
