aa or bsa

Have owned both bsa ultra and a s410 .177,i can say without any doubt that the 410 in .177 was the best air rifle i have ever had and was superb in every way, very accurate straight from the box and as for the range, wow :hmm: ,i cannot see how any rifle could beat the AA as it did exactly what i wanted great power accuracy range,as for bad points, the bolt is a bit stiff to start with and needs a firm pull with your palm and not finger tips, but you soon get the hang of it and will be firing a 10 shot mag into the target as quick as you can load, the other issue is that you must clean the bluing after EVERY trip out in damp conditions or you will get rust on the barrell, but then thats only good house keeping as with all rifles.

I strongly erge you to buy the 410 .177 (not .22) you will not be disapointed,i have had double rabbits many times and have killed rabbits out to 60 yrds and targets (not live quarry) out to 80 yrds :hmm: ,a truly impressive rifle that i deeply regret selling.

The aa moderator is ok but better still is the hw,the best pellets i used were rws superfields, good stopping power and accuracy out to as far as you can shoot.

If you purchase from the airgun centre in raliegh essex !,you will get a life time warranty and free servicing when ever you want.

As for filling i found it's sweet spot to be roughly between 120 170 bar, above or below this it lost some of its consistancy and you needed to allow for the power curve as with .22.

Good luck,atb,Karl

Oh yeah, have a look on the air arms owners forum :hmm:

im torn between buying the aa s410k or the bsa r10 in .177.maybe you guys who own either can tell me the good and bad point of either and which in your own opinion is the better of the two

i would go for the AA410k.The R10 is a lovely looking gun but there are still many reports of them being trouble.

had both.

the aa s 410 is far better as the r10 only indexes the magazine when you pull the trigger back fully.

if you dont you re-gas it but it will not have loaded the next pellet so you fire just air.

a ****** when you have a bunny in the sights.

s410 cocking bolt maybe a bit stiff when new but it frees off in time.

interesting discussion and lots of valid points, i won't add to them but would advise a visit to Air Arms Owners Club forum, I recently added a post to a question about the Airgun Centre, from past experience i would advise buying from a dealer face to face even if it means paying a little more. Returning a gun for service is expensive and if the work is done badly you have wasted time and money. Good luck and happy shooting!

Hi all,

new to the site so hello to all. I own an S410 TDR, not quite the options above but honestly an outstanding gun in .22, accurate, consistent and when I returned it to AA for a service, they returned it within a week, twice as fast as estimated. Really outstanding customer service as well. Can't fault them.

Without sounding biased, I haven't heard quite the same about BSA and R10's sadly. Nice to have the choice though!

good luck with what ever you decide!
