docholiday
OK, thought so. BUT when I wipe of the photographs from the stick and then try to download more on to it it tells me the stick is still full ??
wyatt
Bit more info needed. What Operating System are you using? (XP, Vista, Win 7) Open up explorer and see how much free space is left, you may have deleted a little but not enough.
Billy.
Strictly speaking, when you 'delete' something off a memory stick, it doesn't get deleted. Computers earmark files which have been 'deleted' to be written over. So if you've deleted every photo on the stick, they're all still there, but just waiting to be rewritten over. John_R
Sometimes these flash drives (the correct term for all these things whether or not a true memory stick which is a Sony branded item) do get corrupted or simply fail. docholiday
could indeed be the case, just a thought for our it guys, if it was originally used with a pc and now am using a mac would that stop it writing over the old files? doc
jonesbach
make sure you 'bak cup' all thats on it onto your computer or if you dont want anything on it even better. then 'format' the stick. should be as if its set to factory setting s after this and can be used again.. atb! Billy.
The old Mac/PC debate is old and outdated. If there's an argument for anything being compatible, it's become a PC that usually isn't compatible with something. I use a Mac and never have the issues you are having. Have you checked that you've not clicked the card lock over (actual plastic bit on the card) This will usually yield a 'Card Locked' but it could see it as being full Edited September 26, 2010 by Billy.
