955i
Well I've finally had to admit defeat and take the rifle to my RFD to get zeroed as I just can't figure it out. Tried everything I could think of and no joy, still shoots left about 1.5' @ 50yds I suspect its the mounts but can't go ordering 6 different ones just to find out so he is going to try a few different ones and see if that works. Just hope it doesn't turn out to be anything major.

955i
1.5' !? - blimey I know, its driving me nuts, but I figured its no use me putting hundreds of rounds through it trying to sort it out. Will be cheaper to let him sort it!
Sprags
I may have missed a previous thread regarding this so excuse my ignorance but what rifle is it?
955i
No, not missed a thread regarding the zeroing, put a post up about the gun a couple of months back but I've been working away so not had chance to get back out to try and sort it for a while. Its a Gevarm E1. Nice little rifle. I still think its the mounts and hopefully that will be his verdict tomorrow.
Norrie
Hiya, XPFisherman had a horrendous time trying to zero his CZ .222, he bought new sights, mounts etc etc, and eventually, after spending a small fortune, sent the gun back to the seller.....hope you have better luck with yours.. Andy H
The Gevarm E1 has a diecast reciever including the scope rails (At least mine did) , And not machined into the reciever as most others are so you may have picked up on a casting fault on the groove ,But when they are dialed in ok they are spot on , Even after stripdown and re assemble. Cheers Andy, I am sure its nothing major, but as I said I could put hundreds of rounds through and not figure it so best to give it to someone who has spares to hand to try different options. Should find out tomorrow, but the guy did mention that he has sideways adjustable mounts which could solve the problem if it isn't just an adjustment of the existing set-up
Elby
Am I missing something here, is it grouping consistently at 1.5' to the left?
tungsten
Am I missing something here, is it grouping consistently at 1.5' to the left? Had a CZ with similar problems after trying everything I could think of, I took to am gunsmith who said the barrel was screw cut of centre and the round was clipping the mod.. took it back and they changed the rifle. activeviii
take mod off and have a look at crown, does it look right as it will only take a tiny dink or even the machining could have been off centre. as someone else said, it could be clipping the mod so try with out mod. if you have tried a differant scope and its still doing it then it can not be the rings either so it has to be barrle, but if you wish to test the rings then take scope off and slide rings together and tighten, make sure the bolts are on same side as each other. once you have slide together check to see if there is a step between the rings on inside, they should be flat. then take off the front one and put it behind the back one and tighten again, again it should be smooth inside. if there smooth both ways then its not the rings. mod, crown and barrle are where i would be looking

That's why I asked if it's grouping consistently, if it's clipping the mod the bullets shouldn't be grouping surely
Paddy Galore!
