Pykie
On the squirrels again, after shooting seven on friday I thought I would go out again for a quiet walk around the pheasant pens and feeders with the Beretta 20 bore. Soon startled one feeding on the track and shot him single barrel as he scooted up a tree. Most of the squirrels were on the floor, and i either shot them running or if not safe, waited til they were up in the branches. I suppose they are filling up their winter larders. Got to nine and as I walked back to the car, shot number ten as he dashed from under a feeder. As i laid out the bag, I heard a jay shouting from across the field next door and I "scritched" back on my hand and he came zooming into meet me, and I shot him as he flew into the clearing I was in. Was very impressed with my calling skills so total was ten squirrels and a jay. Oh, I dropped one in the river so only nine in the photo. They are more tasty than you may think.
