MM
A pal of mine has bought a full gun on a shoot syndicate. He is not a shooter, but wanted it for his clients. He has asked me if i want the spare days as a nice gesture. As he has paid his fee, do i have to pay per bird shot? or is it a fee devided amongst everyone? I know he paid about £1000 for the season. In that case, its fill ya boots time. Its around 10 days, and only two of his clients shoot. al4x
yes Martin Plus 4's decent tweed jacket and cap and over and under and you'll be properly equipped. Have you ever been on a driven shoot before? if not then no low birds, no blatant stealing from the next door gun unless he has done it to you no shooting after the whistle or in the direction of the beaters and you'll be fine. Safety is much more important than most kinds of shooting but you'll enjoy it and get hooked and also realise why people do pay for it

ME
It is traditional to pat any of the shooting lady folk on the bottom and say "run long now, there's a good girl, I'll have one sugar in mine". A gun belt over each shoulder and some camo paint on your face also makes the other guns think that you know what you are doing

One of the lads on the shoot told me either OU or SBS is fine. I shant be wearing breeks, but some nice moleskins and a Barbour. Harris tweed on top, and ill look the mutts nuts Im not really going with the hopoe of shooting 30 pheasants, but to experience the day and learn a thing or two.
