bullet boy
If your not wanting to spend much then you'll need to get a Spring rifle as a PCP rifle and charging set-up will cost a whole lot more! What is your budget as I and others can help you choose a good rifle/scope combo.?
mad1
to be honest if thats all you will use it for i would be tempted to get a 79 a 88g co2 i use one for the rats its not too powerfull but more than enough up to the job put a cheap laser on it and you are ready to go. Cheap and easy to modify i call them them a poor mans rapid
humperdingle
A springer for me... All you need is the gun and some pellets, and are the cheapest option. CO2 or PCP guns obviously need an additional power source. Look for a S/H Weihrauch.

deputy dog
Any of the hw range from the HW Range from the 77/97/80 springers or the HW 90 which is gas ram and an whole lot better the springers. Keep eye out on the sale part of this forum. Good second hand examples of all those named above will be on offer with sights and other trimmings for about the 2 to £300 mark. Or you can look at the Air Arms range. What ever you buy, i hope you enjoy it.
12borejimbo
Ive had a BSA Lightning for 11 years, never had it tuned, and cleaned it every 6 months, runs as sweet as a nut, become a hell of a good shot with it, best ive ever done is about 70 years on a bunny, I love it, nice and short if your in the truck, quiet, and very cheap to run, very good with RWS Superdomes or AA Field and Target Trophy, I have a Hawke Map 6 Scope and it is very nice to use! It owes me nothing and I would never sell it! I can hit a 2p every time at 35yds.
