Albertan_J
Can anyone recommend a decent set of hearing defenders preferably earmuff type? Cheers guys
steve_b_wales
Napier Pro 9 are excellent. They are lightweight and work well. The Pro 10 ones are more suitable for centrefire rifle.
Marley29
Depends on how much you want to spend? The Napier's mentioned are quite good but if cost isn't an issue, I'd say get a pair of MSA Sordin Pro X. They are very good.

spiceychilli57
Peltor Sporttac if you want an electronic set i tried the pro 9 couldnt really get them to sit in my ears comfortably and never really thought they got a good seal to protect from the noise so was always fiddling with them After all the experimentation im buying a molded set from Emtec, cost about £80 but molded to your ears so no fiddling trying to get them comfortable Spicer Edited November 3, 2010 by spiceychilli57

It's worth getting the gel ear seals too.

rtaylor
MSA supreme pro. Expensive but, they are the mutts nuts.
Mightymariner
IF you want cheap and disposable. Boots wax plugs, £2.50!
THEINVISIBLESCARECROW
Industrial strength ear plugs. I value my hearing too much. Nowt wrong with muffs but I find they get knocked out of position too often & the seal around your ears get ruined.

Plugs allow sound to be transmitted physically around the ear, muff's prevent this. Sordins are the mutts nuts, being quite slim in profile means they are less likely to foul the combe/stock than others.
