majordisorder
Has anyone had any experience with Barbour doing alterations to a jacket? I need the arms lengthening, apparently Barbour can do it for a very modest fee but what are the results like?
agusta
They will stitch an extra piece onto the sleeve so it will look a bit odd until it ages with the rest of the jacket.

jmooney
I've had work done by Barbour before and it's always been tops. I bought a vest that had a ripped lining and missing snaps and was generally well used. They replaced the liner, fixed the snaps, cleaned and rewaxed it and it's practically new. jimmy-p
Is it expensive for their work?
v5uk
I had a pocket re stitched on to my jacket a few years ago by them - chuffed to bits with the work ans saves splashing out on a new un Steve
majordisorder
Is it expensive for their work? I've just bought a new jacket and they've quoted me £26 to lengthen the sleeves which seems like a bargain price to me.
malkiserow
I've had work done by a small local company (don't ask me who as it was a long time ago). They did a wonderful job and little extra bits a well. Try a google search you might find other companies who do it. You probably pay more with Barbour although you can be sure of their quality
majordisorder
Well just been on to Barbour customer services and I still haven't received my jacket back yet. I sent it off to them a day or two after I started this thread and after three calls over the last 6 weeks have been promised a delivery this week. Lets hope they don't use snail mail otherwise it'll be another couple of weeks. Not impressed with their service at all.
humperdingle
I've had 3 Barbour jackets (all bought 2nd hand), and even the 44" chest version (42" suits me) has woefully short arms. Stood up, with both arms pointing straight out, the sleeves were almost right up to my elbows! Is this for a reason? Always ended up looking a dit daft.
