wildfowler.250
Hi, I was just wondering if anyone knew the answer to this? If I have a moderator thats half unf (T4) and I wanted to fit it to a rifle that has been screw cut to something else, would I be able to get some kind of 'adaptor' to solve this propblem or does it mean I would have to get the rifle screw cut again to take the mod? SilentKill
there are definitely adapters on the market!
Billy.
Sounds a bit bodge to me and I'd not want to use an adaptor on a rifle.
al4x
there are definitely adapters on the market! are there for a T4 though, personally I doubt its possible. You can on the wildcats but you swap the centre part of the moderator

steve_b_wales
I had a .308 rifle that had a 5/8th's thread. I was advised to have the thread cut off, and re-thread it, which I did. Steve.
wildfowler.250
Thanks very much for all the help! markbivvy
m14x1 x 1/2 unf, should be able to have one made for about 20 quid.
Hornet 6
Much cheaper easier and safer to have the thread in the moderator re cut to M14x1 Neil.
Dunkield
As 14mm is bigger than 1/2 inch that would be an interesting adaptor...

njc110381
So it seems it could be done with an adaptor. Come on boys, put those handbags away!
Dunkield
I don't want to be accused of being pedantic mark, but would you honestly fit a part from an airsoft gun onto a centrefire rifle and blast away? And people say not having rifles re-proofed after threading is a risk.... I guess it is up the OP to decide what he wants to do, I know what I would do. markbivvy
I don't want to be accused of being pedantic mark, but would you honestly fit a part from an airsoft gun onto a centrefire rifle and blast away? And people say not having rifles re-proofed after threading is a risk.... they make them for centre fire rifles, the links i put up are to show type. steve kershaw makes them regular, if you want to beat yer chest do it with him. al4x
sounds barmy to me on a centrefire, wouldn't the easiest option be to sell the mod and buy another that is the correct size. or get a wildcat with the additional insert if you want to use it on two rifles. njc110381
All it would take is a piece of the correct spec bar being cut to 14x1 female and then milled down and threaded to 1/2"UNF male on the other end. Then drill a hole that's bigger than the rifle bore down the centre. As the bullet exits the rifle muzzle there would no longer be any friction in the over bored adaptor and the gasses could vent as usual into the mod. I don't see the problem? It would add 1/2" or so to the length of the gun but that's all?
