robbobsam
I have been doing a lot of experimenting recently with Berger bullets in my .243 rifle and was getting a little despondent with the results. Then a guy from the USA on the long range hunting website told me to try contacting Berger Bullets direct. I sent them an email not really expecting to get a proper reply but to my surprise the following day I had a reply in my in box from Walt Berger himself, (Mr Berger Bullets) he is lovely old man and was incredibly helpful suggesting seating depths and loads in my Tikka and after many days trials I achieved the results I wanted. If you are going through the same turmoil drop him a line, he is a very helpful guy. And he really does know what he is talking about. Walt initially told me to try a 95grain VLD I think which required a 1 in 9 barrel I think. It didnt work in my rifle. But according to Walt it does in some. This is called trialling. Then you bounce your findings off of others to learn from their experiences too. This is how loads are developed for different rifles. I trialled and bounced my findings off of you guys in the long range forum. I found on your forum that if you didn't do exactly what the guys in the click did, how and when they told you they would try and berate you as you are doing here. I think your avatar sums you up perfectly. I think you are a *** Edited November 25, 2010 by Cranfield

snowz
you might think i am a ***, but i dont talk **** like you, i am sure more people would agree with me than you on this you try to make yourself out to be some expert in reloading and shooting, what you know about shooting and reloading you could write on the back of a postage stamp. You question and dismiss others on these forums who have far more experience than you but you always think you are right even when your not. I am not saying i am more experienced than you or others on here but i dont talk **** like you

You are now making yourself look like an ill educated chav with your obscenities. Go and watch the T.V with a cup of tea for a while and calm down and come back later. I have not taken offense and I am a big enough guy to take your criticism. Chill out and calm down. If you aint ill already you soon will be at this rate. BTW, I dont think I am some sort of expert, I have been reloading about 6 months, but that doesn't really tell the full story. I have been reloading and trialling loads in my rifle 2 FULL DAYS A WEEK for about 4 months. I have spent £500+ on bullets, powders and cases not to mention the initial outlay of £1200 on reloading gear. I have spent days and days learning from a myriad of people from Walt Berger at Berger bullets to guys on various website forums. I think I have crammed a lot in and I would consider myself to be a competent reloader by most standards. Make sure you have chamfered the inside of the case mouth so you DO NOT damage the base of the flat base bullet. Walt Berger Berger Bullets Technical Advisor ^^^^^^^ Just one of the many emails I have exchanged with Walt Berger. You guys amaze me.....Someone actually got in touch with Walt Berger and because it is something that you guys didnt think of it cannot be true. You guys never cease to amaze me. Its here too..... He answers emails personally. Try him out. I have no need to big myself up. As I said, when I research a topic I do it properly. I know it may surprise some of you guys the lengths that I go to find out good information, but there you go. If you want to know the best powder to use behind a bullet ask the guy who made the bullet. As I said in a previous thread. Read and learn as much as you can about a topic. Buy the best gear you can afford. Apply what you have read... Hence sub 1" groups at 200yds with factory rifle. If you want to see it done in person I am prepared to demonstrate. Ian. What's funnier is that he got his FAC in May this year. It's hilarious reading his other posts around the internet. A quick search on Google for "robbobsam" will bring up a bit of good reading. My personal favourite is a request for 243 homeloads to shoot 600+ yard rabbits and foxes.
