Ian, That may be the case Ian and I wouldn't dis-believe you, but I think it speaks for itself when you look on the 6mbr site and nearly all the top shooters use the Redding Competition dies or similar. How many use the Lee dies. I think that speaks for itself. I carried out a similar experiment to you with my mates Lee dies and I couldnt get it to group very well. I use my gear with the very same components and not only did it give tighter groups, but it was so much easier to use. BTW I wasn't the one taking the shots with both sets of ammo, my mate was. I spoke to Reloading solutions, Midway uk, and Norman Clarkes at Rugby and they all told me that If I wanted to make good quality ammo to get RCBS or Redding. Lee is ok for making basic ammo but the quality of the reloading equipment is not as good as RCBS or Redding. So with that info to hand from prominent experts in the field I steered clear of Lee equipment. I have since used some Lee gear from a friend and found it to be of a poor quality and not as easy to use as my Redding gear. Come on guys, you must all be joking me here, some of the basic stuff is good like the case trimmer and primer tool. But the dies and press are really poor compared to Redding and RCBS. If you find the Redding and RCBS gear to be expensive just tell the truth...... "That stuff is really good but I just cannot afford it that is why I use the Lee stuff!" There, I have done it for you.

If you go YouTube put a search in for ammosmith. He is a real expert in the reloading field. He has a shed load of videos and its in plain speak.

I agree Rich, If I was him I would buy new lapua. But christmas is coming and lapua cases are around £90 for 100. Lapua Cases in .243. A lot of cash to find near christmas, also if he is shooting up to 100yds then these will do fine. The different cases wont make much difference up to 100yds.

I know it may surprise some of you guys the lengths that I go to find out good information, but there you go. If you want to know the best powder to use behind a bullet ask the guy who made the bullet. As I said in a previous thread. Read and learn as much as you can about a topic. Buy the best gear you can afford. Apply what you have read... Hence sub 1" groups at 200yds with factory rifle. If you want to see it done in person I am prepared to demonstrate. It aint rocket science !!!

If you aint ill already you soon will be at this rate. BTW, I dont think I am some sort of expert, I have been reloading about 6 months, but that doesn't really tell the full story. I have been reloading and trialling loads in my rifle 2 FULL DAYS A WEEK for about 4 months. I have spent £500+ on bullets, powders and cases not to mention the initial outlay of £1200 on reloading gear. I have spent days and days learning from a myriad of people from Walt Berger at Berger bullets to guys on various website forums. I think I have crammed a lot in and I would consider myself to be a competent reloader by most standards.

I stumbled across this software yesterday and I think it is really good. I loaded my load details into it to compare it to my Nightforce Exbal readings (£100 approx) and it does a lot of the things the Exbal does for free and gives very similar readings too. snowz, what are you talking about are you taking medication I have been liasing with Walt Berger for over a month now and with his assistance I have managed to perfect a great load for my rifle. Walt initially told me to try a 95grain VLD I think which required a 1 in 9 barrel I think. It didnt work in my rifle. But according to Walt it does in some. This is called trialling. Then you bounce your findings off of others to learn from their experiences too. This is how loads are developed for different rifles. I trialled and bounced my findings off of you guys in the long range forum. I found on your forum that if you didn't do exactly what the guys in the click did, how and when they told you they would try and berate you as you are doing here.
