Vipa
Well I've had more hobbies and passtimes than I care to remamber over the years, currently, shooting aside it is amateur radio (M3PHX) and playing trumpet (since I was 6) currently helping out with 2 school brass/wind bands that my 10y/o daughter plays in but not performing myself... although that could change as it I appears I may have been recruited by the Silverwood Band in Teesside! (time will tell... hopefully it was just an idol threat!) In the past (and other than the really strenuous stuff probably still bubbling under the surface) Diving (Padi Rescue Diver) Ice Hockey (played for Cleveland Comets) R/C car racing Mountain biking (eldest son has stolen my Stump Jumper!) Skiing (since I was 16 - too fat n unfit at mo, last trip was to Chamonix 3 years ago) Motorbikes (until I sold my VFR 750 in 2002... would still love a BMW GS 1150) Squash (dad was a pro, so was brought up on it) Golf (was playing 3-4 times a week but on hiatus at the mo) Archery (started shooting recurve when I was 16, now have a nice Hoyt Compound but it doesn't get out often enough!) Think that's about it!
ferguson_tom
Well done Tom, looks really good, I'm with the local vintage club and I'm just finishing a Power Major. When I say finishing, as you know you can always find that little bit extra to do to them. I done up a T20 a couple of years back then passed it on, oh the hue and cry when the experts noticed that I had fitted an alternator, replacing the old dynamo. As for my hobbies, living and working with nature and farming is a full time job, but it is combined with all that is involved with country sports. Haha i know what you mean about the purists, heaven forbid you use the wrong shade of grey when repainting. This is my other toy which my dad restored about 15 years ago and she could do with a repaint but gets used quite a lot and never got the time to do it. This pic was on our steam club road run in june with the tipping trailer which currently doesnt tip as cant find a ram at a reasonable price. What did you have to do to the power major anything serious or just rebuild and repaint?
crosshair
The Major was in serious need of bushes etc on the steering, also the main recirculating steering shaft. In all quite a lot of small replacement bits, the last job was to replace the lights, the dynamo I took to the local Auto Electric firm, who identified it as coming off a 1970 Austin ?. Not sure about putting pics up on here so I will e-mail to Thunderbird, he should be able to put them up.
