Axe
Spider I used to run an RS100 sounds like she needs a good going over as stndard they should do well over 65. Mine however. was race tuned, TZ250 crank, over bore, skimmed head, race reeds, Carb, custom pipe, etc. I was clocked at 125 by a mate on his Z1300. Mind you, all this work and the engine soon gave up. My advice, get the pipe off and de-coke it, strip out the carb and reeds and give it a generally good going over. New plug and put her back together and be done. If you start modding the engine, you'll loose out in the long run.

Axe
Aprilla nice bike but I dont know why such bikes are fitted with 6 gears. MY ZZR1100 could loose your licence with the first two gears, never mind the remaining four. What a bike.
Enzo
OR, you could buy mine - 4 cylinder, 998 cc. Does over 100mph - in first!! Yam R1 '04 Last year I discovered the digital speedo stopped at 189mph :< (in Europe by the way officer) Then I fitted race pipes, removed the catalytic converter(load of old junk) and let it loose on the rolling road, used PC III to correct fuel maps..... will fit Garmin Sat nav to determine true v-max potential this year. Roll on summer Enzo P.S. Sorry, doesn't help with the stroker problem though. Edited February 12, 2006 by Enzo
Axe
Very nice bike the R1 i've thought about getting one. How does she handle Enzo.
Pedro
Yep roll on the summer. I've had my first winter being a fair weather biker, (for the past 13yrs I rode through everything), and was out on the Blade the other day. I forgot what an absolutely awesome bit of kit it is, I still love it to bits. It does everything it says on the tin, magic! P.
Pedro
My brother has had two and absolutely loved them. He had Leovinci pipes on the last one, what an awesome sound! We went to the Nurburgring last year and it didn't give any probs at all. not as reliable as a Honda though P.
Pedro
You can't beat surprising bigger bikes with a small stroker, (phnar phnar). In my younger days I used to swap my old DT125 with a mates RD125LC which he had fiddled around with. When you hit the powerband it was like being catapulted forward. It was great seeing hairy bikers facers as you ****** past them at 90, leaving a cloud of castrol R in your wake. Happy days. P.

Pedro, I had one before the RSV, I agree, what a top bit of kit, loved it to bits and still miss it! I am thinking of flogging the millie to get another.. maybe! mine was the older one, the RRS after the urban tiger, but same color scheme Adam
Axe
I never tried the blade but the 600 was a damn good bike. It handle like a dream, dropped in to corners without anyneed for opposite lock. But you have to give it to honda for the blade, they got the numbers right when they designed it. Pedro
Yep, I always wanted one. I've had loads of bikes and even had some boring old BMWs, (although the R1100s was tops). I had a CBR600sport before the Blade and that was great. It's just a shame they have to chuck so much salt around in winter. It knackers everything on a bike. i rode the balde all last winter and probably took a grand off its value. That's one of the main reasons I bought a crappy mileage car this year, (plus all the circulation has gone dodgy on the front of my legs and it takes hours to warm up when I get in after a cold ride). spider.20
thanks guys. a bigger an better bike is on the cards but still a long way off as money is tight jus now.an i need to get used to the roads an that first then i can ping round em on something bigger. thought about stripping the exaust silencer wen it threw out bits of burning packing the other day an stripping the carb is also a good idea. axe- yeh i'v been doing my home work no the RXS an most say that wen they modded them they ran for a bit then fell apart so i'm keepin her standard. let me see she's a 89 G4 modle i think an there's 20552 abouts on the clock but she's done about 100 over that as the tacho cable bust for a bit. everythig on her is standard an quoted to be 12bhp an hit 75mph .got 66mph today coz i put more air in the tires. was 20psi now 35psi improved the ride no end an you feel it in the wet! i'v not done much engine stripping but i did take my mini moto apart last week an now it goes. should be the same but bigger right? sept the clutch. if i can find a pik i'll edit an post it.cheers spider
Axe
Spider, best is to de-coke the exhaust, it will inprove it no end. Also check the plug and air filter. These are the quickest and most inportant parts. Mileage wise, the bike should many many more.
ronttuk
make sure u havent got a broken or worn reed valve and the carb is set up correctly if it runs to lean you can detonate a piston !!
spider.20
bike update: passed it's MOT yesterday! whoop! then took her for a run on a nice long flat bit of road a managed to hit 70mph! feels like you rgoing back in time! found a creese up the middle of the saddle wen i got off, hungry bum syndrome Axe- cleaned the plug a few weeks back an the air filter is ok. stripped the air box wen i cleaned the plug an found an old spark plug in the air intake runs better with jus the one plug where it's ment to be. i must admit i didn't think of checking the reeds. i'll take a look at em wen i figuer out how to get to em cheers spider pik is on the way
