Royboy
Gona have a go on the Crows tomorrow morning so ive made some crow decoys out of shell decoys and they look really good ! But im a bit unsure about how to dispatch them. Ive done lots and lots of pigeon shooting and thats easy but ive been told crows can be a bit mad and try and go for you !( Soft i know ). Should i just give them another barrel. Also what times best to get onto my permission ?
MM
get there early, and yes, give them another barrel if needed.
Dekers
Early is Good, very early.... Make sure the first barrel works and there will be no need for another. An injured crow is no rabbit, but it isn't a Grey squirrel either, don't fret and shoot straight!

Dekers
How early is early ? 7.45 in the field ? Still dusk then Assuming you have done your research and know where they are, get there before they head off looking for breakfast, at the moment I would suggest 7.45 latest! steve_b_wales
Not always possible to kill the crow with the first barrel, I know. Always give it a second one if it's flapping or about to do a runner. Sometimes when I go to pick up a shot one, that I thought was dead, and is still alive, I give it a whack on the back of the head with my homemade priest. Imperfection
Yes,another barrel.I tried dispatching a wounded one once by hand and the damn thing drew blood on me! If i see any movement i shoot again now!
TJ91
a peck from a crow isnt going to kill you, but dont let your dog pick up a wounded crow chances are the dog will get pecked and i have seen a few dogs refuse to pick up birds after been pecked (you dont want the dog loosing an eye either)
