Reading the posts and it appears most people with Remingtons have all made aftermarket changes and the people with Tikka's havent, wonder why??

probably due to the availability of stocks ;)

have to say the T3 I used I hated the hard plastic stock

First off, I have to say, I'm not in the business of buying a rifle and then throwing most of it away and replacing all the bits with aftermarket accessories, but many do like this game, and if you are going to do that then you buy a Remington and not a Tikka because there is a vast array of aftermarket products available for the Remington whereas Tikka parts are like Rocking Horse ****.

Frankly I don't see any need though, I currently have Tikkas and Remingtons and fundamentally both makes do what I want out of the box.

ATB!

You can't get too many aftermarket parts for a Hyundai Accent either :lol:

Bowen20,

Have you been into Euroguns of doncaster for a look at what they have got in stock??? I was in there just before Xmas and they

had a good range of rifles in both New and second hand. They wont mind you handaling a few to get the feel of them, Dont rush

into anything and remember that what works for jim might not work for bob. Everyone is different.

Good luck, Let us know what you go for and your thaughts on the kit you decide to buy.

Hiya kippa yeah I go to Euroguns now and again was in there Sunday talking the Nigel the little guy in the rifles section they ain't got any tikkas in so I was a bit gutted cos I've never handled one and everyone is going on about how good they are. Nigel was telling ms to get a browning x bolt which he had on the shelf £715.00 I really didn't like the look or feel of the stock however what I do like is this http://www.ukgunroom.com/viewGun.jsp?id=55371&fromSearch=true

Thats because Tikkas are not that popular in the USA hence there are not a lot of custom parts for them, look at the aftermarket parts industry there used to be for Ford Escorts in this country, can you say the same for Saab and Volvo.

When something gets mass produced and sells like hotcakes people are going to think we can make a bit of money here by manufacturing improved custom parts for them, had Tikka been the seller that Remingtons are i am sure that the situation would be reversed.

People put down Remingtons but take a closer look at the 700, its a marvel of firearms design, easy to manufacture, and best of all robust simplicity, what more can be said its a world class rifle.

Howa for me, slight bias as I have one, will and has shot half inch groups at 100m with factory sako rounds, the only downside on it for me is the floor plate rather than mag but not a major issue. Saying that haven't shot either of the other options so can't compare them.

Cheers Jon
