I'm afraid the firearms people weren't keen on the idea. Not just for the fact cartridges are being posted (although online cartridges do post through designated couriers), but because they could be going to anyone. Justcartridges and the like only ship to people after they have provided copies of their shotgun certificates.

They took your details, though.

Picture the scene:

Young Ginger lad in a kilt sat in his bedroom watching the Highland games on TV, when SO19 burst through the door. "Heeeeyyyy yoooooooooou laddie, staaand still!".

Waving his pale, freckled arms around his head, he reaches for his can of Tizer, only to be gunned down by (ironicaly) 20b carts from the Scotland Yard officers. All this for the sake of some free ammo.

I can see i now.

The Highland Herald: 'Angus McDoogal on cartridge laundering charges'.

Now this is the type of thread that there should be more of.

I have some empty cases and shot, powder, wads and primers that I can send you. All you need to do then is go out and buy yourself a Lee Loadall in 20 bore and load your own.

Bob's your fathers brother and fanny is a rude word.

I'm fifteen, my advice is to have a go at buying some. I have bought many when my parents arent with me and if not theres two legit ways to get round it:

The first go to a clay ground and explain to someone what situation your in, give them the money, most people will help you out as long as you've got your certificate.

An adult certificate holder may right a letter and give permission for another adult (non certificate holder) to buy cartridges with his/her permisson. You need the letter and a copy of that persons certificate. Once again any helpful adult may help you out.

lay off the kid, when you were all fifteen it seems that you could just get a box for a sixpence down at the local postie if you were polite ;) its alot harder for us especially if none of your parents shoot or siblings. He was just asking, might as well. 'you dont ask you dont get!'. I am 17 at the moment and also find it difficult but not as difficult because my grandfather shoots.

I agree too many people seem to mock on this forum and can discourage youngsters. Just offer sound advice and be done with it. Just follow what many people have said mate, as long as you have your SGC just find a local keeper on your shoot or someone willing to pop down with you and get them.

:good:

It's all light hearted fun and banter.

Seriously though, the request can logically only be aimed at the PW Scottish contingent - they can provide the serious replies, assistance and commentary.

Everyone else will be at least £40 of RFD charges away from sending up a box of 20g Carts or £300 in fuel away from dropping some off.... they want to jump on board and get with the light hearted look at the conundrum faced by our young Scottish comrade at arms - well, not so much 'at arms' at this stage, more of comrade at pen knife, catapult and paint ball gun...
