proTOM1
Had a nice wet day on the rape today with stu met up at 7.30 am and headed to the fields it was dry ish at this point but got to the field it started to rain a bit Got stu setup on some tele poles and tryed a different pattern . I set out some 30 decoys a mix of deads and shells in 2 groups about 5 yards apart leaving a small gap in the middle with the rotary about 5 yards infront of the decoys dead centre . We were set and the birds were on the move with stu shooting a nice long bird first shot . I left him and sat and watched for a bit and the birds seemed to like the pattern ,just a shame stu was shooting like a *** I then headed for some trees on another farm in the hope to keep them moving . I soon bagged my first bird of the day but not much was coming to me and then it started to **** down so i took shelter in my truck I had a few goes in the wood when it was not raining and was shooting badly so gave up but i did get a bonus tree rat . The rain kept coming and this stopped the birds and with the draw of a cover crop nearby it slowed down and we packed up at 2pm Stu had shot 23 and me just the 2 but a good day in the rain was had
