Go Go Gadget
Had a look out with the ferrets today. Was a perfect day early on, no wind and a frost on the ground. Wind got up later in the day but we still managed to get a few rabbits out . The land is a few grass sheep fields, bordering moorland and usually gets the full force of the weather as it has no trees to protect it. Tried to get a photo of the area but had my finger over the lens :( Pretty bare as you can see Havent ferreted this patch of ground at all this season so was expecting some good results. Didnt manage the big bag i expected as we only managed to do 4 sets but got a respectable 8 and missed one due to a rotten hemp net. Had to dig 4 out altogether, which wasnt at all bad as the wind was gale force at some times. Was hoping to get a run for my lurcher pup but we only flushed one on the way to the sets and the dog was on the wrong side of the field. Going up one day through the week to do the rest of the sets, still around 5 or six that i know of. final bag. all lovely clean rabbits, still havent seen a sign of myxi up here yet Edited January 18, 2011 by Go Go Gadget

ollie
Good going mate. I don't know how you guys can be assed digging, I suppose I am lucky that my ferret will leave a rabbit after a while if it doesn't bolt. Love ferreting at this time of the year as it gets me an extra months shooting after the game season is over.
